    what an odd video.

also what's the effect where the person is clearly singing slower than the vocals but the lip-sync is still kind of on point? It always bugs me because it makes me think the sound is out of sync with the video.

Carrie Akre has such a lovely voice.

now on to Kenna. I remember seeing that video for Hell Bent on MTV way back in 2001 and being awestruck by it. It didn't look like anything I had seen before (and before you ask no I had not seen the Tool video yet) and the music was so unique.

With the release of his first single in 2001, "Hell Bent", Kenna gained moderate popularity and an underground following of fans who eagerly awaited the release of his debut album, New Sacred Cow. After many delays and swapping of record labels, the album was finally released under the Sony imprint Flawless in 2003.[2] A subsequent North American tour was launched in the Summer of 2003 with Depeche Mode front man Dave Gahan.

The album, which was co-produced by Chad Hugo of The Neptunes, contained elements of electronica, synthpop, post-rock, and house music. Two singles, "Sunday After You" and "Freetime" followed the release of the album; the music video of the latter, along with "Hell Bent", appeared sporadically on MTV2. "Freetime" reached #19 on the U.S. Dance charts.[3]
It makes a lot of sense that he toured with Dave Gahan since the music is Depeche Mode-ish at times.

I remember burning the music to disc because his original label dropped him but the CD was out in the wild. 56k modem and a brand new CD-burner for my computer...which was on the floor because we were in the process of moving from AZ to WA so things were in disarray. I listened to that CDR on repeat pretty much the entire drive.

I cannot find the video except on dailymotion and I don't think that embeds. I'm not going to find out. That said, the video that was chopped up to make the music video is available on youtube.

According to a 2014 study, this guy has the biggest vocabulary in hip hop, by a WIDE margin. He also used more unique words in the five or six albums that he'd released by then, than occur in Moby Dick and the works of Shakespeare. As intriguing as that is, I didn't dig the vibe of the songs I checked out back then.

But, this NEW one is fucking great. And apparently it's from some sort of concept album about the supernatural. I can't wait to hear the rest of it.

I mean it's good but it's also so similar to other works by the artist that I'm of two minds. I guess if you only listen to Cristobal every now and then you could pick any of the stuff (Utopia Season 1 is brilliant, as a suggestion) and you'd get it. But at the same time it's all really good so you can't go wrong.

been listening to this a fair bit lately.
but with all the tracks from the EP’s and with Is Your Love Strong Enough? added, which makes 24 tracks, no remixes.
but i’ve been wondering if anyone has put together a revised running order?

'Box Steady', the new album from Ceephax, is an absolute acid smasher.

Ahh yeah i remember Kenna, i found out about them by way of Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor album in 2005 as he featured on a song from the special edition.

I came across the Hell Bent video after that and the song and video were great!

The Radiohead minidiscs that they 'leaked' a few years ago. They had put them on bandcamp and so I grabbed them there. It was too hard to find a good rip of the actual discs at the time. only thing missing is some samples / audio that an 'official' release had to lose or face some licensing nightmares.
