Oh, thanks @marodi . Yeah, we've actually been waiting for it; didn't know it was our yet

So I picked up the soundtrack to the movie "Judgement Night" last year ... and now I'm watching the movie.
It's terrible.
Liked Everlast's character and look. And what was with the close-ups on Leary?
Ok, so while I LOVED the first episode of Project Blue Book, I'm a little frustrated with the fact that it's "based on true events," but is VERY misleading in some aspects, and hyperbolic in others.
The actual truth about Blue Book is crazy enough, and I wish they would have just stuck to real life events, or, at least, purported/reported real life events.
Don't get me wrong: I expect to LOVE the show. The story is thrilling. The acting is stunning and the sets and camerawork are lovely. We will, without a doubt, tune in every week.
It's just that there is already enough disinformation out there.
I was really hoping this would at least be up to par with the original (not that it was perfect, but I enjoyed it), but this was a disappointment. In case you don't remember or didn't know, before they announced what this movie was, they billed it was "The Woods," and if you ask me the movie that COULD have been "The Woods" looks much more interesting than this ended up being. Shame, too, because that kind of a bait and switch could be really clever, but it's totally wasted if the movie falls flat.
@ImTheWiseJanitor , how did you like the second one?
Regarding the first one, I wonder if you'd have liked it more if you'd seen it in the theater and been around for the birth of the found footage craze?
There was a fake documentary about the lore on, the History Channel, I think, back when it was actually to be trusted and about history. So, after seeing TBWP in an art house theater when it first came out, there was this doc that claimed that all the history of the region was true, although the movie obviously wasn't "real."
THAT shit made it a lot more frightening.
As for me, I liked the new one and the second one, but, at the same time, I was disappointed by the new one myself.
Hopefully before long, another sequel comes along and just fucking KILLS it. I'm a sucker for that whole story.

I liked this one a lot.
They Came from Beyond Space with commentary by Elvira!
Pure cinematic awesomeness
feeling a little low, these movies are comforting as my daughter and I used to watch them together, when she was little

Watched Fyre Fraud on Hulu last night and wow. I think the biggest takeaway from that is that there's likely another Fyre Festival copycat out there and that you 100% should NOT trust social media influencers on anything.
I liked the first one! I remember seeing it when I was itty bitty and being so terrified because I believed it was real. Saw it again years later and thought it was a great entry in the early found-footage days. They could’ve even learned a lot from the first film and built on that in the reboot. But as far as the second one goes, I remember the moment I saw the trailer and that it was gonna do away with the found footage aspect, and completely ignored it. Is it worth the watch? If I find it somewhere I’ll have to check it.
Caught this the other day too! What a trip. I knew things were gonna be pretty nuts, but holy cow. The interview clips with Billy were gold, from the awkward silences to the unjustified defiance that he did anything wrong.
Oh, I know you said you enjoyed it, but I figured that, had you seen it as a teenage horror fan, you would have fucking LOVED it.
The second one, I think it's badass, but it got bad reviews. It's a sort of meta thing about the town being flooded with people who were excited about the first movie, and a kind of shady dude who does guided tours and such. And horror ensues. I loved the first one so fucking much that I ALSO loved the second one. I know that part of it was just that it was a new Blair Witch project movie that came out a few years after the first one, so I already assumed I would love it. I saw it with rose colored glasses and I think I still do. I also remember that my date and I snuck whiskey into the theater , so that probably smoothed any rough edges. Honestly, I'm not so sure it's MUCH better than the most recent one, but id definitely say it's worth a watch if you dig the lore and such.
I hope that, in a few years, someone comes along and just KILLS it with a fourth one.
The Favourite, not bad but abrupt ending.
Shit is brilliant. I'm on episode 2 now, probably gonna blow through season 1 tonight.
Edit: As a maintenance guy by trade, I'm loooving the segment about making educational pornography that teaches people how to do stuff like unclog drains, repair doorknobs, all that stuff. The number of full-grown adults who aren't familiar with how to do something like reset a breaker switch is absolutely staggering, and I say this from experience. It's good shit to know! Very interesting idea.

Just finished watching "They Live" ... while I appreciate the message of the movie and beefcake Roddy Piper, let's just say I think the dialogue could have been a whole lot better.
Just caught up on all of S3 so far...
Just walked out of Glass.
Not bad! There were a lot of things I liked about it. The look is great, I liked how it was shot, and the cast is great. But honestly, probably the weakest of the three for me, especially in terms of "big twists." With a little more work I think it could've been the best one, but eh. It feels like a rushed out superhero movie that needed just a liiiiittle more time in the oven. It keeps itself going pretty well until a point, and then it falls apart pretty hard once it hits that point.
Spoiler: Don't like the fact that the movie spends so much time building up that these three people actually DO have special abilities, in spite of doubt, and then the three main characters just...get killed by regular means - Drowned in a tiny puddle by a normal dude, shot by a normal bullet, and falling and breaking every bone. That would be perfectly okay if the entire message of the movie wasn't "Whoa, they DO have powers! Look, world!" If they had maintained a level of ambiguity about powers/mental disorders all the way through, that would've been fitting. And then the barely-fleshed-out "secret society" that's just kind of...there, and then gone. It didn't have time to feel threatening. I LOVED the scenes in the restaurants with the whole room hushing once someone left the room, but that was about all I liked about it. It felt like there were other scenes that were cut out that might have tied things together a bit more nicely. I dunno. It could have been great, but I think the best word for the last 1/4 of the movie is "lazy."
Social media saves the day!.....I guess!......
All in all, it was okay. 3/4 of the movie is solid, and then just...bleh.

I've wanted to watch this movie for a very long time so I bought the recently released blu-ray edition of it. (Unofficial) 50th anniversary release of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
I can't wait to watch it sometime when I have peace and quiet. It's not technically what you're watching rather than what I'm watching soon.
“A Million Little Things” OH MY GOD I AM ADDICTED!!! The suspense is killing me.
Also finally watched “Hidden Figures” last night, we loved it.

Anyone interested in Fyre the Hulu one is much better than the Netflix one. I've heard the Netflix one was funded by the Marketing firm F-Jerry and points a lot of fingers at Ja Rule and Billy. Hulu has interviews with Billy and lots from an excommunicated former employee of F-Jerry. There's a lot to lead me to believe F-Jerry was equally as guilty in misleading folks.
Just finished watching this...
Now, it isn't for everyone but... if you like intrigue (and social commentary), then give it a shot.
Just started a mini-marathon. Watching this sooo makes me want a rubber ducky so I can be a badass.
If you're interested in bawling your eyes out for practically 90 minutes straight, this is for you. Or better yet, if you don't....you know for a fact that you're dead inside!
It is an absolute crime that this wasn't even nominated for Best Doc at the Oscars. Inexplicable. It checks off so many boxes that they typically look for. Watch this movie for a complete change of pace from the hellscape that is our modern world these days.
For those of you who saw it....toward the end when they play the audio of him asking you to do something silently for 60 seconds....man. I just lost it.
Been home sick with a nasty cold all week. So I just watched Pi. For the first time in years. Still a fantastic film. Aronofsky's best imo.
.................................................. .......................... We started watching Love Island last night.
Watching the last episode of Parts Unknown and.... didn't expect to see Karen Black or Joe Coleman in it.
Now I should scratch that urge to re-watch the Disinfo TV series
