it's a reseller outfit so it could be that both are right: the seller knew and the reseller didn't.
Had a good two weeks.
Type O Negative - World Coming Down - Black/Green mixed Vinyl
Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley (2014 black vinyl pressing)
and... one of my Holy Grails...
Marilyn Manson - Portrait of an American Family (Simply Vinyl 2 LP Black Pressing) cost me a bit, but lower than expected, sooo I am grounding myself from buying records until April... haha

took it back and the owner was there today. he was surprised they were bootlegs but was convinced by the lack of label information anywhere.
grabbed the QotSA LE Villians and a copy of Beck's Colors album that was the LE yellow vinyl as well as a pretty nice copy of Decades from Neil Young.
I can't find the post anymore, but somewhere on ETS (can't remember which thread it was) someone had just posted about the Target buy two get one free sale on vinyl being back and that Bird Box was included, yet I can't find anything on Target about the sale. I guess I missed it?
i own all three volumes on CD so, uh, yeah i'm pretty excited about that.
i've barely been listening to records lately (too tired, not home at the right times, been working on my music a lot, etc.) but we went into our local record store today and found one of pat metheny's first records for $4. the sleeve is a little beat up but the record is in perfect condition. really surprised i hadn't ever heard this album considering a) it has a couple of my favorite metheny compositions on it and b) jaco pastorious plays on it. nearing the end of side B right now and i'm pretty sure it's the best purchase i've ever made in a local store.
two things:
1) literally my fav piece of music from the film, and i was always so pissed off that it wasn't on any of the three volumes of soundtrack on CD
2) i always knew it was fuckin' gilmour playing on that song, it was so unmistakable
i am now EVEN MORE EXCITED to get this. haven't been to RSD in a few years but this is finally gonna get me there. guess i better dust off my rollerblades and my pager
it was absolutely gorgeous
FINALLY got my hands on Vol.1 thanks to Amoeba Hollywood's instagram account
yellow eyes • rare field ceiling
gatefold sleeve with foil embossed logo on cover
sightless pit • greave of a dog
limited edition translucent pink vinyl
If I'm remembering correctly, for the director's commentary they mention that they wanted to use a different song for that telephone booth scene... (but I'm having a hell of a time verifying that, so maybe I'll watch the DVD for a bit tonight [update: the commentary is not on the DVD and now I have no idea where I watched+heard the commentary at all])

quarantine jams from the vault, pts 1-5
htda • welcome oblivion
le matos • chronicles of the wasteland (turbo kid OST)
king crimson • discipline
king crimson • beat
king crimson • three of a perfect pair
Thought I'd cheer myself up with a fun and inexpensive nin-related purchase - picked up a sealed copy of this:

The sounds are very familiar from Reznor's HiS mixes on Fixed:
quarantine jams, pt. 6-10
pixies • minotaur box set
come on pilgrim
surfer rosa
doolittle
bossanova
trompe le monde
the minotaur box set was assembled by Artist In Residence, the same people who did the Ghosts I-IV box set. i got number 0055 / 3000 so it came in the pink fuzzy box (and is definitely the largest and heaviest box set i own). i realized when i was at my local record story recently and they were playing surfer rosa that i hadn’t listened to the records from the set since i got it in 2009, and i decided to rectify that. all the albums were remastered and pressed on 180g vinyl with new artwork by vaughn oliver, among the many things in the set.
what i didn't remember is how hot the mixes are. i'm getting so much high-end distortion, especially toward the middle and end of each side. pretty disappointing (and a little hard to listen to on headphones because of it) :/
not going to inundate the thread with photos, but here are quarantine jams, pts. 11-24:
judas priest • screaming for vengeance (new to collection)
king crimson • thrak, the construKction of light, the power to believe (newish to collection, first play)
joy division • les bains douches (best live album ever)
bauhaus • in the flat field
dead can dance • spleen and ideal
the cure • pornography
chelsea wolfe • apokalypsis
the knife • s/t
cocteau twins • victorialand (new 24-bit remaster, arrived yesterday; surprised it's a 33rpm since the original pressing was a 45rpm)
coil • the ape of naples (box set)
old man gloom • the ape of god (i + ii)
it was the first thing i ever bought by joy division. i got it at my fav local record store and my two friends and i spent literally the whole summer of 2003 listening to it. on my dad's turntable while we played super smash bros, in my car on the CD i burned it to, etc.
the energy of the performance(s; technically it's sourced from multiple shows) is astounding. i was really confused the first time i heard one of their studio albums and it lacked the rawness and aggressiveness that their live sound had. plus, the setlist is perfect.
more quarantine jams:
25 - northless • world keeps sinking
26 & 27 - ghosts v & vi (obviously not on vinyl)
28 - vile creature • cast of static & smoke
29 - pan sonic • kesto 234.48:4 (sadly, on digital)
30 - wes borland • crystal machete
31 - nick cave & the bad seeds • let love in
am i the only one plowing through records right now?
32 - khemmis • hunted
33 - X-TG • desertshore / the final report
34 - the body • all the waters of the earth turn to blood
35 - isis • panopticon
36 - oathbreaker • eros | anteros
37 - fever ray • s/t
38 - grails • doomsdayer's holiday
I got turned onto mgla from the Heavy Thread and this is some excellent shit.
