I love this band.
Great rhythm section, the drummer and more the bassist are incredible.
Some weak lyrics here and there and one album so-so (The New Game)
Chad (vocals) and Greg( Guitar) are on that shitty band Hellyeah.
Ryan (bass) is on Korn now as a replacement
Drummer don't know.
Any fans here? Any news if this band is over? or still planning to do something in the near future?

Big fan, but you really, really, really don't need to spell it like that.
I am also bummed that Chad and Greg have chosen to shitcan Mudvayne in favor of the awful Hellyeah.
I like all Mudvayne's stuff: obviously the first two albums are classic, but I like their newer stuff a lot too. Hopefully we haven't seen the last of them.

TEOATTC > LD 50.
The thing with Mudvayne (there you go Aggroculture) is that I always thought that they could become something HUGE, but it didn't happen.
I remember when LD 50 came out back in 2000, they rate them as "Slipknot meets Tool".
Hope these guys don't quit.

I havent liked anything they have done since LD50, IMO nothing comes close.
I saw them headline second stage at ozzfest in 2001, and it was freakin awesome! I have real good memories of this album, a friend of mine threw it on the other day when we were taking our lunch break, and it actualy still sounded fresh, unlike alot of the other "nu metal" from around that era.

LD50, The End Of All Things To Come, and Lost and Found are all great... after that it is hit and miss for more. The S/T I couldn't get into at all; step in the wrong direction if you ask me. Fuck Hellyeah and get with it already.

I wanted to like hellyeah i really did, but compared to Mudvayne no way. I love LD50, The last album, and the second one. Others have hit and miss songs. Really wish they would come back and dump hellyeah. First album had potential that went nowhere.

Not really. I think I only saw one great show from these guys, at CBGB's just before Lost and Found came out. The other times I've seen them, they've floundered, pretty unable to reproduce onstage the intricacy of their studio material. Recently they've been playing a lot of LD50 material which makes no sense at all.
The first two albums, especially TEOATTC, had an amazing conceptual complexity which part of me wishes they could re-connect with. Though I do enjoy their more straightforward, rock-y material.

Just saw the news, bummer. Hopefully they’ll do their own shows next year or something. Festivals during this time (or anytime, really) isn’t exactly moving the needle for me. As for new music from them that well may have dried up already. Would like to see a proper live show from these guys.

This was the second and last time I saw the vayne. I can't remember who the second stage ozzfest headliner was originally in 01, but for whatever reason they dropped off so Mudvayne got promoted up. The pit was insane and it was in the upper 90s and humid as hell. Great show.

Oh it gets worse and this might make you more concerned. In 2009, he sounded like a smokers lungs, it was actually really bad. Listen to how Death Blooms sounds in this video.
I really hope Chad steps his fucking game up and doesn't bullshit this. It's never a bad idea to get some vocal coaches.

But yeah, i actually did a relisten to all their albums, from Kill, I Oughta to S/T so i thought i give my thoughts on them
SO yeah, the first EP, Kill I Oughta.....yeah this fucking sucks? The moment i saw the words "Poop Loser" i already lost all hope and when i finally heard it, i was extremely confused. What in the fuck is this song? Seriously what is this fucking shit? All the other songs were pretty bland, boring unintersting and their old bassist sounded pretty boring as well too. Even the songs with Ryan on them, he sounds like he is holding back. Yeah, this is by far the worst thing they have ever put out. By far.
LD 50 is, of course, the classic album. I could really do without all the pointless interludes but we got all the great songs on it. Dig, Death Blooms, Nothing to Gein, Prod, Severed, just to name a few. I love how prominate the bass, you can really hear all that wild shit that Ryan does, as well as that awesome drumming by Matt. The guitar is pretty basic for the most part but honestly, i see it as trading places with the bass's job as adding rhythm. Chad's vocals sound raw as hell and his cleaning singing.....is as nasal as it ever was but its not so bad on this album. It works on this one and there are really good moments with his clean singing like on Death Blooms and Severed, which, imo, is their best song. Great album
The End Of All Things to Comes is also great. Great opening song, Not Falling is great single, (Pre)Version of a Truth is a great deep cut, along with Trapped in the wake of a dream and World so Cold fucking sucks ass. Like seriously, when they go slow, balled stuff it sounds awful. It wouldn't be so bad if Chad actually knew how to write intimate songs in this style but he really can't. He's best at the edgy hardecore shit. And sadly, this wont be the last one. But yeah, i really love this weird trashy, proggy nu metal vibes this has. Cant say im a fan that the bass is lowered in the mix but hey, i still think this on par with LD 50
Lost & Found....well, i can say it has one of their best openers by far. Determined kicks fucking ass. Im sure I wouldnt have any debates with this being the best song on the album because holy shit, the quality of this albums fucking drops way off from this point onwards. Like "Happy?" and Forget to remember are fine enough singles but some of the deep cuts fucking suck ass like Choices with that fucking EnIE mInEY mInY mOE Shit. who the fuck thought that was a good idea? I completly forgot that was in the song and i fucking busted a nut hearing that again. The only real good song after all this imo, is the closer, Pulling the Strings. Yeah, this album was pretty bad for the most part.....but
The New Game was even worse. I know people like to joke about albums being so boring to put people to sleep but it actually happened with this album. I had my head resting on a pillow when i was listening to this album and i fucking passed out. But holy shit, this is even a bigger drop than the last one. I mean, the title track is pretty good but everything else is so fucking vanilla and forgettable. Scarlet Letters is by far the worst song on this album, once again, slow balled like song that sounds horrible. This definitely their worst studio release
Now the Self Titled album I think is actually a step in the right direction. It has some's really strong opening songs that sound like The End of All Things era stuff and the deeps cuts like Out To Pasture and I Can't Wait are really great too. But, of course, it has the stupid balled type songs like Scream with me and the god awful Dead Inside, their worst song by far. But there is also another problem. Chad voice on this album is starting to really give out on some points. His screaming is on point for the most far but when he does that growlled scream singing he does normally, he sounds like his voice is about to break and blow out at any minute it it sounds like he singing without any teeth on some songs like Heard It All Before and, much like the video i posted up earlier, on songs like 1000 Mile Journey and Out To Pasture. Overall, this kicks Lost and Founds ass, as well as The New Game but Chads vocals are in dire need some help.
I really hope Chad steps up his vocal chops. I know he's smoker and drink alcohol so i know that isnt helping one bit. I hope his voice doesn't fuck this all up

As much as I dig "Fall Into Sleep" that album was not great on the whole. The New Game was effing terrible. Mudvayne (s/t) was good, but I'm the only person I knew who was listening to it. Even people that were still into numetal stuff back in the day weren't listening to it when I was even when I told them it was pretty good. They were mostly listening to Korn reruns and the genre itself had basically fizzled by that point.
Still, man, LD50 and TEOATC were so classic that they deserve to still be talked about today. Granted, I was right in the middle of them getting big. Maybe a "you had to be there" kinda thing. Still.

One of the big problems i have with that S/T album is, at some points, as in the songs ive mentioned, CHad literally sounds like....you remember that sponge bob episode were they were selling choclate? The old lady in the wheel chair that was just a spine and skull with the ridiculous raspy voice? That's what it reminded me at some points. I wish Chad took care of his vocals and actually learned how to scream properly and not fuck his throat up. Even the stuff back in 2001, his voice gets shot after awhile, just look at the performance of Severed in 2001, his voice goes out by the chorus and its a real shame because if he took care of it, he could have been one of the greats taht came out of Genre like with Corey Taylor and Chester Bennington.

I completely agree, I wash Chads voice has aged better, but I wouldn't put Corey Taylor in this category either. He's sounded pretty rough during some live Slipknot performances too. It probably gets worse than this but its the one that popped in my head because I was excited to hear a quality live performance of this song and was really dissapointed.
Also, I've never been a big fan of HellYeah, but at least it's not something equivalent to what Corey as done, like Chad Mother Fucking Grey

Day of the Gusano is incredibly unlistenable to me because of Corey's performance. I firmly believe that if it wasn't for that being their first show in Mexico it never would have been released. At least with Corey though, dude genuinely still has a great voice and that was probably just one of those days when his voice was shot. Chad Grey on the other hand just sounds like shit now. I saw Mudvayne on the LD50 cycle and they were incredible. Then I saw them again on the Lost & Found cycle and I vividly remember the older songs were played at like... half speed, and Chad was just screaming syllables rather than singing the actual lyrics. It was a bummer. Sevendust opened for them on that one and completely stole the show.
