I hope not. Are you maybe thinking of John and his Trump support?

If he's the issue with the music they should get Andy Khachaturian (their og drummer) back. I'm sure he's healed up by now, right?

Also when he left to be Skrillex wasn't it something about vocal cord surgery?

that FFTL album is amazing. a huge step up from their first album. i also got it because wes played bass (and because i found the cover extremely intriguing). wish it was mixed a bit differently, though. something about it has always sounded off.

too bad sonny jumped ship and became fucking skrillex, and then the band started sucking :/
The album FFTL did with Spencer from Periphery had some really solid tracks on it.

Sonny came back for a couple of songs not too long ago. Not great and the production is awful.

(Feel like it's important I note that I read the stuff about Sonny earlier today and didn't just know this information.)

shit, you're right. sorry for the mixup!

this video is SO fun. needs more carol kane & wallace shawn interacting together, but i think i'd just want them to play against each other in a movie/show.

and this is, hands down, the best mashup i've ever heard. it is incredible. the guy has made a bunch of other good ones, too, but nothing tops this.

300: Rise of an Empire. Junkie XL has (or at least had) a particular style for his scores. This one and the Mad Max score are both driven by the drums. And you can hear it also in the Batman V Superman tracks that he helped out on. But then you get to The Dark Tower and when he started released them as Tom Holkenborg that you hear him changing to more usual scores. I am anticipating what he does for Justice League though.

did not know this was a cover until I searched for the video. Good sound from the band, seems like a really fun one to play live too.

At the end of the video he does credit the original creators.

I'm listening to The Himalayans only release She Likes the Weather. From reading that I started to read the page about "Mr. Jones" which I have forever understood to be a sarcastic song about fame. Apparently not though, which is disappointing. I am glad that the band at least acknowledged that.

The song is about struggling musicians (Duritz and bassist Marty Jones of The Himalayans) who "want to be big stars," believing that "when everybody loves me, I will never be lonely." Duritz would later recant these values; and in some later concert appearances, "Mr. Jones" was played in a subdued acoustic style, if at all.[3] On the live CD Across a Wire Duritz changes the lyrics "We all wanna be big, big stars, but we got different reasons for that" to "We all wanna be big, big stars, but then we get second thoughts about that"; he also changed the lyrics "when everybody loves you, sometimes that's just about as funky as you can be" to "when everybody loves you, sometimes that's just about as fucked up as you can be."[5]
Also The Himalayans album is just alright. Completionist-only listening.

Though the early version of "Round Here" is interesting for it's 80's bassline.

"Round Here" by CC is a banger.

You should find that version, just for the compare/contrast of how much it changed.

i hate it when people post album covers in here that have no text and don't elaborate on what it actually is that they're listening to. c'mon, y'all! if you're gonna share it, tell me what it is!
