Moths In The Wallet
For that price, unless the piece of art that comes with it was really heavy, it would be a better idea to have someone in the US buy it and ship it to you, holy shit. I've never heard of shipping that expensive overseas like that. Last time I sent something to Australia it was like $25 shipping.
Fuck me. I really would love this, but almost $950 Australian Dollars including shipping?!?! Um, no.
What I don't get is why the hell they would drop this so close to xmas. Seems like a pretty poor choice.
What if Trent does this thing to finance Tension BluRay? (Which, if happens, will probably reuse some of the Cargo artwork)
I reckon they would be lucky to break even. Assuming all units sell, the maximum earnings from this is $600k USD. I would say it would have cost a small fortune to hire Mills to fly over to L.A do all of the artwork, not to mention the productions costs to make the final product. This looks like a labor of love if you ask me, because after everyone takes out their cut - there is probably not enough profit to mention.
i got the $5 version that made it to where i could hear the songs and be proud of myself for not pirating it or physically stealing it from a store like i did YZ.
those were desperate times for me.
and even though this project looks lovely and my situation is a lot better now, i don't generally buy $300 anythings. (except guitars and such. for me, if it's expensive, it has to DO something productive. as far as books go, i loan them all out anyway and never see them again)

I totally can't afford this and I totally don't deserve it but I just ordered it because I don't give a fuck.
I'm pretty sure I'm not able to afford the book but that video is just mind blowing. I especially love seeing his notes for TDS. I paused on that part and he has notes on the side about how Romans used to use the aftermath of Gladiator fights to fertilize farms. Amazing stuff.
... This is the only time of year anyone would spend that on a gift, especially to themselves. Holiday season is the best time to sell literally anything because everyone self-justifies the expense (if they can). That's why the Rammstein vinyl box ($250) had a December release. Marketing 101.
Considering the cost of the actual products, too. A 320-page hardcover book more than one foot in dimensions alone would be a lot of money to produce, I would imagine it's on high-quality photo paper, and I know they're using expensive high-quality inks for printing. Add to that an actual mixed media physical piece, steel framed, with a laser etched numbered steel plate. And shipping for something that's 11lbs.
Remove the fact that he's an artist, just the actual thing you're buying alone is expensive to make.
Again, I am 100% all for the price point. If I had the money to spare, I would buy one. Hell, even if I didn't have it "to spare" I probably would. If I was working anything more than freelance right now, I would.
I laugh at that shit every time.
I tried to resist but did not make it : P
Order NINUK#1099
I hope that this time everything will arrive without problems
Is there a way to tell how many pieces have been sold so far?
Actually wondering how many sold also, went to site and looks like you can only buy one at a time. Only 2000 and they're still available, so not exactly selling like hot cakes.
They're also ... $300 books.
Sure, there's time and dedication and materials put into it, hell they may be worth every penny. But at the end of the day, whilst some people might spend that much on music, few would spend that much on a book.
A week in and this item is still for sale. It took Ghosts what...2 days to sell out? Wonder how long it's going to take to finish out the stock.
