You know, I've seen weirder things be true. When 10,000 Days was coming out, we had a Tool subforum and about a month before this guy came about claiming to have the album. People flamed the fuck out of him, but a month later all the little snippets he mentioned turned out to be true. So he had actually had the album all along and our flaming him prevented him from sharing it.

More recently a guy paraded around the Mortal Kombat forums swearing up and down that Freddy Krueger would be a DLC character. That is a far more outlandish claim than in my previous story, so nobody bothered to pay attention to him even at all. Of course that did actually happen and I'm sure everybody's jaws were dropping when that announcement was made.

I'm not sure we'll get the thing tonight, but stranger things have happened than this, for sure.

No, it was the Sunday before. But since the only online media vehicle that had access to a proper official stream of the Hesitation Marks advance tracks so far far was NPR, I am kinda betting that that's were the full album stream is headed. If pitchfork were to do it, they would have had access to studio versions of CBH, CoA, Everything and whatnot else.

On a last note: I TRULY don't know what kind of satanic cult wizardry Columbia is doing to prevent the HM leak. Even their other major releases this year have leaked sooner then this sneaky bastard.

Not saying it won't leak, but what if they've found a way to make sure it doesn't leak and they aren't letting anyone in on the secret? Crazy idea, but think about it: every song we've heard thus far have been heard the way Trent/Columbia want it to be heard. The album comes out a week from Tuesday. What if there isn't a stream before the release date? After Pitchfork gave Welcome Oblivion a rather "meh" review after streaming the album, and after the whole Daft Punk/iTunes situation, I think they've been guarding this album quite a bit. Trent, I feel, is more aware of how leaks can happen than most artists. One of the reasons for going independent was to release the album when it was finished, and not wait on the record company to release it, which is how leaks happen. Considering how much they've catered to Trent, maybe he's taking whatever he learned as an independent artist and finding a way to apply it as a label artist.

Again, not saying the album won't leak. For all I know it could be happening right now, but it's just some food for thought.

Others have talked about this in this thread... but the physical copies do tend to arrive at a much earlier date than release. I worked at a retail outlet I wont name for shame's sake for a year or so. I was in the receiving area and was in and out of the lock cage where certain pricey overstock was kept - and things that haven't been released yet. For the better part of a year I remember seeing things weeks, in some rare cases of video games a full month before release. I also always tended to think "Wow, if only I cared about any of these albums. I could be that guy to risk charges and leak this bear." Though, I was terrified of charges to just do it anyway for those which weren't leaked. I suppose that's probably a big factor behind it - downloading a leak is one thing. Providing it is fully another.

But one thing that store had is a Judy. (borrowing phrasing from Saul Goodman.) She watched over and kept count of all the releases in there - always spending a few moments each shift to eyeball everything to make sure nothing had been opened. And that cage was on camera 24/7.

Figured I would expand food for thought!

It makes sense when you think about it like this... Most record stores are probably going to be getting their new shipments for new releases for first week of September this week Tuesday or Wednesday. I have a feeling the shipment went out on Friday and they will be arriving this coming week

Apparently Trent used to comment on the old board under the name teitan (before my time). There was a thread a little while back that had links to some of his posts that were saved somewhere another. I read a few and basically he just came and trolled everyone relentlessly, quite like the way bugas is doing now. It may not be him but I'm thinking it's probably someone from the NIN camp atleast. Still, no way to prove or confirm it so it doesn't really matter but I do admit my hopes are high for the 28th. Please don't break my heart bugas!

As some of you may or not know, Ilan our drummer of 3 years is leaving us for a bigger band and a real pay check.


Jokes aside, I hear you asking did he bite the hand that feeds? What kind of a reptile or demon seed is he? That, my friends, needs to stop right now, i do not want this. Sometimes love is not enough, and after 3 years the line begins to blur. We asked him 'you know what you are?' while he replied if 'only!'. Then went on to tell NIN 'im looking forward to joining you finally' because he is a naughty little piggy. The way out is through times like these, and even though we're in this together we all know Ilan will find happiness in slavery. I know some of you will claim this is heresy, and i will admit i am somewhat damaged, but thats what i get. Yes this does suck but i guess it was his wish.

I also know some of you thought this was all a terrible lie, so i hate having to be the one giving you all the big come down, but even though we are all a little bit fragile right now, i know our survivalism will get us through and it will all be for the greater good. Ilan has a lot of discipline and i know he will no longer think that every day is exactly the same, this is a god given chance for him. So this puts into motion the beginning of the end for Ilan and Lostprophets. We have all grown closer to him, and know he is not the great destroyer. No matter what he never gave up on our vessel. In this twilight we are letting you know that there is no need to panic or worry. This isnt the start of a downward spiral, we are now even deeper into the new album and will never succumb to the great below. Underneath it all my violent heart still beats a proud and sure rhythm. The warning here is that you never know whats around the corner, and even though you may get hurt, sin or no sin, all you need to do is keep your head down and know that you still have us, and we will continue to give you all the love in the world.


We wish Ilan good luck with everything, and while the time we have together is getting smaller, we will always look up at the same lights in the sky and know he is right where he belongs.

I remember when Year Zero came out, they released a full song everyday or once in a while....i cant remember... but I remember when one would get released I would instantly burn it on a cd, so the cd had the same track that was released like 10 times on it...and play it for my friends... It was so exciting! I remember hearing In This Twilight for the first time, that SOUND at the beginning, like an animal crow sound... sent chills across my face. Everytime I'm in a store that sells CDs, I check for HM just in case. I check the new releases at the end of the aisle and I check the alphabetical listings. Which always makes me thumb through NIN's next door neighbor Nickleback, which just makes me feel dirty.

I don't remember this place being like this for other albums. I felt like there was more to talk about back then. Obviously there was the ARG to talk about for Year Zero, and for With Teeth everyone was just happy there was ANYTHING to talk about in the 6 years since The Fragile. I get that everyone wants the album to leak, I do for sure, but I'm just bummed it seems like there's less to say this time around.

I had a friend that worked at a local music store back in the day....I got the March of the Pigs single and TDS like a week early because of him.
...life is good...just think about it this way....once we have the album we will have it for the rest of our lives...so a week or two longer to wait is nothing really.

Every time I listen to "Copy Of A" I love it even more. It's fucking awesome.

"Came Back Haunted" is pretty good.

"Everything" is lol-worthy, but in a good way. A nice light touch to the LP I reckon.

ugh. I don't really know much about that band so I was curious and googled that. Not just children, but a baby. That's the only way you could make raping a child more disgusting. I think I need a shower just after reading that.

This may seem really inappropriate but like, can you imagine how shitty it would be if that was your favorite band. Obviously not whats important here but jesus that would be traumatizing I think.
