Heh. Wrong thread, but Wallflower does kick some ass, in a sort of "hey this is kinda like AIC" way.

    It's not bad. A sort of AIC/Black album-era Metallica hybrid. A solid 3/5.

Creed are a shitty mishmash of Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains with extra slatherings of totally undeserved pomposity.
My Sacrifice is as close as it gets, in terms of this is so bad this is kinda awesome guilty pleasure territory.

Also shit: 10 Years, 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Candlebox, Moist, Bush, Godsmack.
Just take out the first Bush album from that list, but i agree on everything else...

    Sponge's first album is great!

    No, dude.
    No.
My wife and mother like nickleback. I can't help it
I've never listened to nickleback on purpose, ever.

For the record, my parents always had a band when i was growing up, so my 58 year old mother was always pretty hip to music-her favorite bands are like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, AIC, Jane's Addiction etc.

She got ME into pearl jam, for instance.

I'm going to add Sixx AM to the list. Really wanted to like them, but they are just really cheesy and lame. Did like their first disc, but subsequent albums are just plain bad.

Wow that guy from Sponge really wanted to be Scott Weiland. Watch the Wax Ecstatic video a page back. And creed sucks. All of it, every note.

The song i hate that the world keeps shoving down our throats right now......."Shut up and dance with me"

"kiss me" by sixpence none the richer came on today while my wife and i were out to lunch, and she went, "why do people like this song? why was this a popular song? what's wrong with people?" which cracked me up. i reminded her that it was used in no less than half a dozen movies and shows when it came out, and there were (at least) three different versions of the video (the original, the dawson's creek edit, and the she's all that edit). so it had SO MUCH exposure that it was basically impossible not to hear it, and people just kind of gravitate toward things, especially when they're teenagers and everyone else is gravitating toward those things.

and then "everything you want" by vertical horizon started playing and i just about lost my mind laughing.

Agreed. What is so special about him? Plus, I keep seeing ads on Yahoo that he's related to Erik Estrada or something but I read his Wiki and found out that they're not related at all. Plus, didn't he said some nasty shit about Adele?

It's annoying that pop punk bands like Green Day and Blink 182 are making a comeback. What's the matter with teenagers? OMG these 40 something ageing 'rockers' really understand me. These guys are older than me still trying to appeal to teenagers, it's really sad

At least Green Day played a bit of MDC's "No Trump, No KKK" in the middle of their song last night. That's pretty edgy by the AMA's standards.

What if the sort of people who love Nickelback are likely to be drink drivers and this is just encouraging them?

Pitchfork did a list of music disappointments in 2016 and the Kendrick Lamar one made me laugh.
'Not sure what's worse - Kendrick Lamar needs money so bad he did a Maroon 5 verse or Kendrick Lamar doesn't need the money but did a Maroon 5 verse anyway'

Anyone else excited for the new Evanescence LP boxset coming out next month?

    How about NOT ME, lol

I guess when it takes you 5+ years to put together another album of faux-angst pseudo-goth, the only thing left to do is jump on the ol' boxset bandwagon and make some mailbox money, yea?

What was so special about them? Honestly, I never thought they were good and I got a lot of shit for not liking them from the website I used to write about. When they won the Best New Artist Grammy, I laughed my ass off knowing that they're career is fucked because nearly anyone who wins that fucking award is a goner.

I do too. Not a day goes by where I want to really beat the holy shit out of Adam Levine for butchering "Closer".
