I was never a fan, but I get what people liked about it. I don't what they liked SO FUCKING MUCH about it, but I can see the appeal. Maybe if you don't give that much of a fuck about music, Sublime fandom is a nice late teen apex.

    I'm glad I'm
Not the only one. I live in SoCal and everyone in SoCal is supposed to love Sublime. Not me. My ex boyfriend loves them and it drove me nuts.

Just like everyone in Jersey is supposed to love The Boss, and everyone in Mississippi is supposed to love anything pop country and hopefully racist.

I went to school in the mid nineties in Los Angeles, and I worked in a record store there in the late nineties... the Sublime love is just fucking weird. Then again, I thought it was weird to find out that east coast "bros" were apparently really into Dave Matthews and Phish. My brain just breaks there, and I still have a hard time buying it.

While I'm here, fuck Phish and fuck Dave Matthews.

I hope it was Amoeba! lol

I could go on and on about how much I dislike Sublime but I won't. I just think that they sound like they are trying way too hard to make music.

It's the drum sound. Mike Portnoy said they had the same producer as Firehouse for their Images And Words album, and re-recorded his tracks for the greatest hits package they put out a few years ago.

ART FLOP Lady Gaga's new album predicted to sell a fraction of Born This Way and has doomed Interscope.

$25 million on the whole marketing... Shit, that is going be a major loss. Not to mention how many people will lose their jobs because of Gaga. Nice job Interscope.

That's odd, I thought she was top shit in the pop culture. I wouldn't know since I don't follow, but I do remember her being everywhere . guess people got bored with it.

Doesn't make sense to me, Miley hits, yet Gaga is miss?

Even for Pop standards we're talking about a major quality-loss here...

I have no problem with Gaga, i own "The Fame" and i think it's a great pop album, never heard "Born this way" besides the singles but i think they are decent... i can't get into Miley Cyrus even as an "ironic" listener...

I like Sublime to a point but feel that they are somewhat overrated. DMB are alright. I kind of liked the few songs that I've heard, but not enough to buy an album. I grew up outside of Boston in the 1990s and yes, Phish were really Popular. The kids who liked Phish were the ones who smoked a lot of pot and played ultimate frisbee.

All of these bands are listenable, IMHO, unlike say, ICP.

Apparently, ARTPOP is going to sell 240.000-260.000 units. Bangerz sold 250.000 units.

I don't know what Interscope expected...

Lady Ga Ga was way overexposed for years, that may have hurt her in the long run.

Thanks for the data, then this just proves that the guys at Interscope are assholes, whether i like or hate Miley Cyrus she's the hottest pop act today, if she's selling almost the same amount then it's a mistake from the asswipes at the label, no wonder why Trent hates them...

I agree, the "pop star syndrome", actually i've been curios to see how her career unfolds... Is she destined to be a "new" Madonna? or will people forget her in a few years just like many others...

Lady GaGa is too unique, good or bad in your opinion(s), to fade away like other random bullshit pop that's been out for the past few years.

She's more talented than a lot of her peers, but to me her music is pretty generic. I never "got" her I guess.

I used to like Tegan & Sara when they were making quirky indie music but their new music sucks now. They've really sold out. As far as that Miley comment concernts...

I'm so excited about the failure of ARTPOP. I can't wait for her to have to resort to working the casino circuit where she belongs.

I'm not a Madonna fan but she has more talent in her pinky finger than Miley has in her entire body and 8 year career.

Doubt that'd happen. As for it "being a failure" I also don't consider it one. it's a "failure" for charts and money concerned for the record label, but all I hear from her fans is stellar things. So I take things like that with a grain of salt.
