Does anyone know what Trent Reznor's favorite authors or specific books are that influenced him?

The honest answer is:
1. We don't really know as TR rarely discussed such things in interviews (except that one time when he mentioned U.K.LeGuin book as inspiration for Bleedthrough concept)
2. This should be moved to Random NIN questions thread
Didn't he get that Ayn Rand tattoo a while back?
There was an interview (i wanna say 2008-ish or something?), where he said The Road by McCarthy had been the last book he read.
I recall that around the Bleedthrough/With Teeth era, the official website provided a link to Chomsky’s writings (along with a link to Meathead, so ... swings and round-abouts).

“In The Hills, The Cities” by Clive Barker was sampled in Sin from his Books Of Blood.
@fillow I believe “The Lathe Of Heaven” was the title of the Le Guin book.
This is confirmed by BOTP on IG a while back. He said this was "required reading" for all involved with YZ by TR.

Slaughterhouse-Five was used in the YZ ARG, and I think I remember someone saying 42 Entertainment put it in there at Trent's request.
Just for the record, Trent doesn’t have any tattoos (that we know of), correct?..
Which book is that? And apologies - I’m brand new to the forum, so didn’t even see the random NIN thread. What LeGuin book are you referring to?
I wouldn't be surprised if he's thrown Burroughs in the air before
Hey – I was asking about this a while ago for research – I found out very little in the way of books - but there is mention in an interview from early 1990s of Trent having a Nietzsche book on the go, think it was Beyond Good & Evil.
Otherwise there's the staged photos of Reznor reading - then burning - a bible...heresy? (more like atheist)
I asked twice in the comments of the HOF interview chat right now what his favorite books were. No dice, obviously, they didn't ask it.
I've wondered about this for a while, too, and would really love to know.
He eulogized J.G. Ballard on social media and said Crash was one of his favorite novels I believe as well as the movie adaptation
If I am not mistaken, he said somewhere he'd never get a tattoo because he is too pale or something to that effect.
That's really interesting - do you know the source? maybe a magazine interview?
Well, throughout their lives, many people continue to develop and read a lot. And in different periods there may be different favorite works. For example, 4 years ago, my favorite novel was Orwell's 1984, and now it's Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. And in my youth I adored Glafa Monte Cristo, Dumas.
I remember him saying that he was more inspired by books than movies when it came to writing lyrics.
I think it's probably this one:

Here's the quote:
"L: Do you have any piercings or tattoos?
T: Just my ears. No tattoos. That's what makes me stand out today. I thought about getting branded, but I don't have the right kind of skin. I could lighten a dark room with the underside of my arms. I had my septum pierced for a year and a half, but when you're singing the mike hits, or your guitar strap pulls it when it goes over your head. Ouch. On stage it's chaos. Enough was enough."
It sure is. And if they would go back and read 1984 they would be a LOT better off. Atlas Shrugged is some petulant, privileged, teenage bullshit that Far Right fascists love to use to tell us all how they got where they are by their own genius when it was really daddy’s money and a society built on the oppression and exploitation of immigrants and people of color.
That’s the last book Trent Reznor would be interested in.
TR just mentioned Anne Rice novels in this new stream:
