So just from that trailer it seems very, very similar to the original. Which is cool because the original is amazing.

I did chuckle at the writing credit though. How much do they need to change to officially switch the credit to someone else?

Laika Announces Sixth Stop-Motion Movie, ‘Wildwood,’ Directed by Travis Knight, Shot by Caleb Deschanel

“Wildwood” is based on the first in a trilogy of YA fantasy novels by Colin Meloy, lead singer and songwriter for Portland-based The Decemberists, and illustrated by artist Carson Ellis.
I mean I guess it's nice she's recognized for being an artist but wouldn't you have also said "wife of"?
“Beyond Portland’s city limits lies Wildwood. You’re not supposed to go there. You’re not even supposed to know it exists. But Prue McKeel is about to enter this enchanted wonderland. Her baby brother Mac has been taken by a murder of crows into the forest’s depths, and she — along with her hapless classmate Curtis — is going to get him back. Prue might think she’s too old for fairy tales, but she’s just found herself at the center of one…filled with strange talking animals, roguish bandits, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions.”
I read this with my son a few years ago, it's pretty good. Has some pacing issues for a children's book - not every book should be ~3" thick - but has a lot of interesting world building.

Looking forward to seeing this Red Rocket movie.
It's by Sean Baker, the dude who did Tangerine and Florida Project.

Red Rocket is about some guy who is or was porn start and returns to his Texas hometown, where no one wants him around.

To me, Sean Baker is like Harmony Korine, if Harmony Korine made movies that were actually good and not terrible, like they are.

Oooo... a new Night Court series has filmed a pilot.

And honestly, conceptually, I'd watch it... I mean, I did watch all 9 seasons within the past decade (it took over 5 years for S9 to get into the Canadian Apple iTunes Store).

I mean, sure, it looks like a Vampire: The Masquerade plot of a movie buuuuut... I'm okay with that.

I recently started watching this series, It's taking me a while but I'm almost through Season 2 now.

I'm sure by the end of my viewing I'll have some partiality to the OG show before the reboot comes along but I hope to give it a chance, it's a good sign that the creator is involved again but with it being on the CW it's hard to say what it's going to look like.

Will it be skewing younger than the OG series? Younger actors etc.? I would hope it keeps a more mature target audience but that's not usually how CW operates.

    I guess we'll see!

I love Aisling but I kind of hate this is going to be the wider introduction to her.

And how would an Irish mom produce an British accent in the kid? I want some believability in my kid-somehow-doesn't-kill-everyone movie dagnabbit!

also that still makes the kid look like this guy

I was watching a 90s compilation of commercials and this one for Independence Day was included... what a fucking way to market that movie.

This is fucking horrible, what a pointless death, I don’t understand a thing about firearms though so I’ve no idea how this could be prevented

Macon Blair is remaking Toxic Avenger.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_To...er_(2022_film)

Peter Dinklage in the title role will be interesting. The most odd part is that they were originally in talks with Arnold for the role.

"Arnold is busy, who else can we get to play this part?"

    "Call Dinklage"
