A friend of mine works at a Wal-Mart here in Ohio and the stories she has are just like that. People are even waiting next to pallets of stock as it's opened up and taking stack and stacks of toilet paper before it even gets to shelves. I've personally never been happier to have Amazon Prime.

I'm sure they'll both be fine. But if they're not, you'd better believe that this will be the tipping point in public opinion from "whatever dude fake news hysteria it's just a cold" to "CANCEL THE WORLD UNTIL THIS IS GONE WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!!!?!".

But again, I'm not even considering a scenario in which they don't both make a relatively speedy recovery and get on with their lives. In the meantime, I applaud them for being calm and responsible about it - and doing so publicly.

My wife works for a prominent local hospital network. She received notice tonight that they decided to postpone all elective procedures in order to keep beds available to treat the emerging outbreak. Patient notification will begin tomorrow.
