Let's hear it for Nine Inch Nails! Woooo, they're good! Seriously though, I'm pumped they got in, even if bands like Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc. should have made it in first. That Rolling Stone interview was a great read, too! I can't wait for them to announce the 2020 shows and I hope that they do indeed release some "bits" of music this year, as he alluded they might. Exciting times!!

I'm not really sure, I've only been to other Rock Hall events, not an actual induction ceremony. But I'm going to try to change that this year

So, hear me out, this is probably not going to happen, but I would love to see either DM or NIN play songs for the T Rex induction, my hope is either 20th Century Boy or Get It On. Both bands would kill it!

Unrelated but your post made me remember Placebo covered 20th century boy and what the likelihood might be of Brian Molko inducting them (or even NIN??) is.. Maybe he's not well known enough in the US for the hall to bite.

Okay, but we also need Trent doing an a cappella version of I Will Always Love You and a NIN/DM jam of Hypnotize to end the night.

wow...congrats to Trent, well deserved and overdue.

...and, I just got hired as a teacher, so after many years of financial hardship, I think I can actually afford to do this. holy crap.
$200 for a round trip flight from NJ, only an hour and a half long.

..I HAVE to do this. I also love T.Rex and like a lot of DM's stuff too.

Not that Trent ever needed validation, it's still a tremendous honor. I'm really happy for him and his colleagues!

    Who should induct NIN?

Maynard, Jared Leto, Mike Shonida, Marilyn Manson and Dave Grohl are all safe lists of famous musicians who can praise Trent and sound sincere, while audience says "I know that guy!"

That would be amazing, having that alcoholic shell of a human being up there giving praise to someone he's always wished he could be.

10/10 he would never do it.

People mentioning Josh, but Sting has a tour date on May 1st so he's also doubtful.

I'm sure they'll figure out the drummer situation, but just in case they don't: melt everyone's face with The Great Destroyer.

...or get Alex Carapetis again for another unforgettable rendition of Reptile.

How is New Order/Joy Division not in the Hall of Fame by now?
Educated guess: Trent will pay it forward and have Numan induct him.

I put the 25th in my calendar. If I have a job by then, I'm trying for tickets.

I like Grohl for inductor. I remember he made some very nice compliments after the Oscar win, and has had nothing but nice things to say since. He also inducted Rush and is of course in himself with Nirvana (and Foo Fighters will be eligible for induction this year, so theirs is probably around the corner too), so he's no stranger to the institution at this point.

I second Dave Ghrol, Maynard, and Gary Numan. Manson would never do it and I doubt Trent would want him to. We'd get some weird, rambling drunken speech, that's for sure. I don't know what Jared Leto has to do with NIN, but maybe Josh Homme, Al Jourgensen, Adam Ant, or even Todd Rundgren would be more options for inductor.

Dave Grohl for the induction. He's a contemporary musician, Trent and him respect each other and Dave knows all about self-destructive musical geniuses.

As in like, a repeat inducter? Yeah, David Byrne inducted both Bowie and Radiohead.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bono and Springsteen have inducted the most acts (including each other).

Dave Grohl makes perfect sense. Hes a good speaker, the hall of fame loves him and he is friends with Trent...Manson would make a mockery of the whole thing....Jourgensen would never do it in a million years....And I don't understand people thinking Gary Numan will be involved. Numan is not really regarded as some big time musician outside of his fanbase. Hes generally regarded as a one hit wonder from the late 70s/early 80s, especially in America. Its like having Adam Ant induct Trent...Not happening

If only Bowie was still alive............

Thomas Dolby or Numan. David Lynch would never do it, as he has severe stage fright and only ever does large crowds for tm.

David Bowie would probably induct NIN if he were still alive. Fuck, that would've been great.

It'd be freaking hilarious if they played Everything at the HoF induction.
(And tbh, outside of it being jarring when I first heard it, Everything wasn't *that* bad)

Furthermore, Ghostemane is the answer, as far as who should do the induction speech.

Ghostemane is the correct answer. Sorry to everyone who got it wrong.

But, since that isn't happening in THIS timeline, I'm putting my money on Mr. Saul Williams.

I can hear Saul Williams' speech in my head already. It sounds good.

Have Roger Waters induct NIN and finish his speech with "By the way, I'm still unfamiliar with your work."
