There were some questions in the podcast about whether the Helmet club tour even happened in 1995. There is ample evidence that it did, in fact, happen:

    http://www.nin.wiki/File:11_14_1995_..._glam_slam.jpg
    http://www.theninhotline.net/nin_his...club_tour.html
    http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/199...s-first-prices
    http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/199...ficers-bar-dda

One problem in getting information about it though is that there is a huge hole in the alt.music.nin Deja News (now Google Groups) archives from about Oct. 1995 to Jan. 1996. The other problem is the clubs were so small, that there were not a lot of people who saw the shows. I think other the years, I've only seen a couple post who said they were actually at one of these shows. And incredibly, not a single bootleg recording has surfaced.

Edit: Found this intersting MTV News article:

It was more of a joke that the Helmet/NIN club tour didn't happen. I know it did. Just crazy no recordings came about that tour!?

I know, right? Especially coming off of the Self-Destruct and Outside tours, when NIN were arguably at the apex of their popularity.

Based on what I've been able to piece together, it really sounds like the club shows were being done with only a few days' notice in the towns where they were happening. For example, that Sun Sentinel article above confirming the shows just a couple days later in south Florida. I think the short notice, combined with the extremely limited amount of tickets available are probably what contributed to the lack of recordings.

[EPISODE_FOURTEEN] has been recorded and will be in your earholes "soon." New episodes in the new year. Before we get to Year Zero, we want to do an entire episode discussing the ARG. Does anyone know of some currently active ETS users who attended the Open Source Resistance meeting? It would be great to hear their account of the event. Thanks!

Might wanna try some of the people who said they attended here: http://www.nintourhistory.com/concert.php?concertid=845

edit: also the ol' ninwiki has a couple of stories about it from ETSers who were there http://www.nin.wiki/2007/04/18_LA .

New UIA coming in 2017. Other stuff, too.

Also, in light of recent announcements, we felt it appropriate to make James Reed (aka @sheepdean aka Atticus Ross superfan aka our own soft spoken British nobleman who seems to have a hand in all of our work as of late) an official member of the podcast! We haven't told him yet or even asked if he wants it, but it's happening anyway. Welcome, James! Please make an immediate appointment for your ass branding. Remember, it's U on the left cheek, A on the right, and a big sexy line down the middle.

    Happy holidays, everyone!

Haha, thanks! I actually had that thought before I realized people on here were talking about it, so it seemed worth mentioning.

I think encephalitis is what you were referring to for "Branches/Bones"?

You can type to look things up! I'm just trying to avoid tons of clicking during the show, some of which definitely happened on this one. That said, I've started learning how to auto-remove clicks from an audio file, so if I continue editing the show and get comfortable with the software, there may come a time where you can Freecell and Purble Place to your heart's delight!

After listening to the latest podcast (great job, as always guys! I've been listening since the first one), I went and played Right Where it Belongs to listen for the "traffic sounds" that were mentioned (because I didn't remember any), but I didn't notice it. The crowd noise, of course, is very obvious, but where are these supposed traffic sounds in the song? Am I missing something obvious? Is it that background noise in the first minute of the song? That never stood out to me as any kind of discernible sounds from street traffic.

On an unrelated note, I used to be a member of the old board way back in 2002 and when the ETS server went down in 2011 and had to start over, I never signed up again until this year. I may look like a brand new member, but I used to be a regular and I've been lurking for the past 6 or so years. So, hello again!
