OK, so there was a long, heavy rainstorm in Athens today that lasted from the early morning hours up until around noon. We're talking a significant amount of water. Also, Athens is not the best city in terms of water drainage (almost all of the natural draining streams have been blocked or built on). So the few streams (natural or artificial) that do remain, are completely overtaxed in storms like these. Which leads to chaos, property damage and, occasionally, injuries and even deaths...
