I don't like it either, but just because you find it ridiculous and unworthy of your attention doesn't make it so. It's good, or bad, but it is objectively fashion, no matter what one might subjectively think of it. I'm not even defending it, but the people who buy it aren't so much morons as investors, and only time will tell if that investment is wise or not.

I didn't know fashion was that simplistic then.

This reminds me so much of Mugatu's fashion campaign in Zoolander themed after the homeless people in NYC.

holy shit, I didn't realize there were so many fashion experts here to provide insightful critiques into how Kanye's effort fits into contemporary trends and styles! Exciting. Oh, wait, everyone's doing cheap shot "LOL HOMELESS PERSON" comments (which, btw, is leveled at pretty much every fashion show ever).

personally, I think the clothes look kind of cool, not that I will ever wear them

Yeah honestly I both don't feel qualified enough nor do I care enough to have an honest opinion on any of it when it comes to fashion shows. Doesn't matter to me in the least.

Wolves reminds me a lot of 808s material.

Between it and Only One I'm guessing this is going to be way more mellow and way less noisey than Yeezus. Personally I wish he'd dive even deeper into the sampling, distortion and industrial influence of Yeezus, but hey, I thought Only One was goddamned gorgeous and think Wolves is going to sound great in studio, so I'm not complaining yet.

It was weird how rough he sounded during that SNL performance. Maybe he's just sick.

Wolves is a pretty cool track. I like the direction that Wolves and Only One are pointing towards.

Kanye sounded terrible on SNL. He was outperformed by his guest on wolves.

The lacking vocals were made up 100x with the social commentary. <3

He also sounded better than McCartney. I wonder what his deal was.

I adore Kanye because he isn't just a musician, he is an artist. His live performances are complex and captivating.

    BUT!!!

He can also do stripped down and simple extremely well, too!

Here is the interview with Zane Lowe. I haven't watched it yet, but gonna try later tonight or tomorrow!

It's pretty good. Zane Lowe still has a tendency to nuthang more than I thought was even possible, but it's definitely worth watching.

I really like the interviews of his that I've listened to... He always seems genuinely interested in the people he's interviewing, and seems to ask outside of the box questions. Maybe he's faking it, but it makes them way more fun to listen to.

confession: i am embarrassed to admit that i was in the majority of folks who dismissed kanye solely based on his attitude and ego, without ever really giving his music a fair shot. however, every time i caught an awards show performance, i was intrigued. king crimson/tears for fears samples, great stage presence, interesting sets...seemed like there was a lot to like, but i never bothered listening to an album.

that said, i decided to get over myself and try his three most recent records- starting with yeezus, moving to 808s and heartbreak, and ending with my beautiful dark twisted fantasy. i LOVED all three of them equally. i haven't listened to anything that came prior to 808s, but i am way more into these records and his music in general than i ever thought i would be...

I'll give the album a go if it ISN'T like Only One or like Yeezus in any form. If it is, count me out.

After hearing All Day and Wolves I think it's safe to say this album is going to be fairly diverse. Wolves reminds me a ton of 808's style synthy goodness, and I know you loved that album.

Wolves isn't bad. I could live with that type of work. The wank off revolutionary shit on Yeezus I couldn't stand. He tried too much to be like Death Grips on it. I didn't mind Bound 2 but the music video was atrocious.
