    project: hear it all...

A slight deviation from the strict alphabetical release order, but I needed a track from it for a remastered mix and it was in the letter "A", so.. may as well do it now instead of in a month or so...

my record collection (7", 9", 10", 12", & box sets combined) is over 1,150. i definitely slowed down buying records for a while during the pandemic but i've still picked up quite a few things in the last couple years

This thread inspired me to do my collection on Discogs. I've done my records so far and the purchases i've made on Discogs. The idea of doing my CD collection fills me with dread though so I doubt I'll do that lol
Initially I only had a few odds and ends - but I finally got a decent turntable last month and my collection is starting to grow rapidly much to the horror of my bank account. The NIN definitive editions are the original pressings from 2017 and 2019 respectively, Welcome Oblivion was one of the first I ever purchased I think because I loved the art and I wanted the white CD that came with the vinyl exclusive tracks. The Radiohead and Muse boxsets were purchased on their release dates so I didn't pay the current prices for them (especially Origin of Muse holy crap) but virtually everything else has been purchased in the last month or so I think.

may as well post mine as well...

    https://www.discogs.com/user/e.vondr...tion?layout=sm

CDs and vinyl... ongoing. Most of the purchases in the past 2 years has been directed towards remastering my mixes... coupled with artists/bands I want to support with ongoing releases.
Due to COVID-time still being very real, I don't do local shopping trips any more unless I just happen to passing through the place (say, a farmer's market or something like that)... so pretty much everything in the past 2ish years is Discogs/Bandcamp/other artist/\band sites.

    Oopsy

That'll just leave Year Zero and The Slip (and maybe Ghosts) if/when they ever get their Definitive Editions. How long is NIN soon again?

My numbers aren't anywhere close to what most people on here will have, but it's fun to share regardless.

My collecting has absolutely slowed down the past couple of years, but I don't really mind that - it's easier on the wallet, lol.

It's never about size, just collect what you can and enjoy it. Don't give into FOMO too often...

My copies of Hesitation Marks and Pretty Hate Machine arrived. They sound fantastic but Australia Post or Royal Mail dropped the ball somewhere along the way getting them to me and the corners of the packaging they were shipped in were slightly crushed aaaaaaaaand so are the corners of the gatefold sleeves themselves. PHM fairer better but HM has crumples in all corners…its a shame because I got my trilogy EPs from the UK NIN store and they survived the journey much better haha

Longest line I've seen in YEARS for Record Store Day today at my local shop, I'm assuming thanks to all the Olivia Rodrigo/Sabrina Carpenter/T Swift releases. I picked up Team Sleep and Poppy (they only got two copies of Poppy and I got one of them). I've waited so long for Team Sleep on vinyl that I've already spun it 3 times today. So stoked to finally have it.

I only really wanted one album - The Spawn soundtrack - and they didn't have one. Or maybe it was in a cubby hole? The shop makes you wind your way through the entire place and it takes awhile. Like, it opened at 8 and it took about 1.5 hours to get to the front of the line and even then I didn't get out until 11. But I did get the Team Sleep as well as the RHPS demo disc.

Kind of wanted the Wilco album but for $75 it'll still be there in a couple weeks.

I ALMOST picked it up at my shop, but I've got the original 3xLP set so I decided to save the money. They had like 5 copies of it upon opening though, I believe, so I would imagine they didn't last too long.

TTPD is gonna end up being the most sold record of all time though, I bet. The owner of the store was telling me at checkout that virtually every sale no matter what they were getting was getting a copy of it. Said there were people lining up for 24 hours just to get a printed copy of a handwritten note from Taylor on a postcard. Pretty wild, but honestly the more people that get into THE HOBBY, the better. Loved seeing so many non-typical RSD shoppers so excited about buying music. Dads coming in buying Team Sleep and Pearl Jam and shit while their kids were getting Rodrigo and Paramore. That's my favorite part of RSD every year, to be honest.
