I never knew about Hellboy from the comics, had really no clue what Hellboy was before the films, and I loved both of the Hellboy movies. I really hope they do a third one... Guillermo del Toro really knows how to make those films and he does it well.

    The Hellboy comics are great!

Just saw my first ad for "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters". What... the fuck?! Is this from the same people who brought us the astounding crap-pile Van Helsing?

Also, found another even more recent tidbit from Del Toro regarding Hellboy III.

“A couple of weeks ago or months ago, I did make a couple of phone calls to test, to gauge the possibility of doing that because it’s a big movie. There’s no takers for a movie of that size. The two movies made their money back and a little bit. They were financially good, but one was fifty and the other one was eighty, eighty five. This is a hundred and forty. So no one wants to do that leap, from the financial side. So unless we find a way to do the mother of all kickstarters.”

Interesting, because he also mentioned the VERY remote possibility of doing something via Kickstarter. No way you'd make even much of a dent that route (despite the fact I read that so far, over $83 million has been raised for video game projects on Kickstarter....an amazing figure) but who knows...if a Kickstarter raised even a few million just think of the rewards they could factor in for contributors. Maybe it'd make the movie companies take note as well, though I can't see there being no company that'd want to back it....it would make a metric butt-ton of money at the box office. Especially with how long it's been and how even after all these years, so many people still drool over the thought of a third. It'll happen I think.

Also interesting because Del Toro's talking budgets (even though wikipedia numbers are a bit off from what he said)...and 'This is a hundred and forty.' From that it sounds to me at least that he's got an idea of what he wants to see in the movie, and it sounds way bigger than the first two.

If Pacific Rim kills it at the box office I predict it'll be greenlit even faster.

Also, Hellboy III. I hate the fact that $140 million is considered too expensive by studios for a series with a track record of being well written, well shot, with talented actors... I almost got through that without cracking up. TRANSFORMER 12, BRING IT!!! $400 MILLION GODDAMN DOLLARS BUT WHO CARES!

That RED 2 trailer is awesome.

I wish there was someone like a George Harrison who is still around to say... "I'll give you the money". After all, he did mortgage his own house to have Monty Python's Life of Brian made. All because he wanted to see it. I wish I had $150 million to spare and just give it to Guillermo.

Sweet Christ. I would jump on a Hellboy 3 Kickstarter so damn fast. I'd work extra hours JUST to give more to the project for a higher reward.

The fact that Hellboy 3 is barely starting to bubble back up is really exciting. That franchise introduced me to GDT for the first time, and he handles it super well. I hope something comes of it.

It is interesting. I'd recommend Utopia if you find most tv drama pretty dull

If you like Utopia, I suggest giving JAM by Chris morris a look (it's on youtube)

Paul talked about this on Conan, kind of jokingly. Weird that it might actually be happening now.

Anyone planning on seeing Warm Bodies?

I like some of the designs in the movie's official merchandise shop.

This is the other film David Gordon Green is going to come out with as he's hoping to redeem himself after the debacles that were Your Highness and The Sitter.

JJ Abrams is apparently the supreme leader when it comes to bringing geek fantasies to the big screen.

I can see him bringing his special effects boner and thrusting it firmly into a Portal adaptation.
