That's great! Have TR & AR had a #1 on the Billboard vinyl chart before? I think The Fragile may have been the last NIN-related #1 Alternative Album...

With Teeth was #1 on Billboard 200
Hesitation Marks was the last to be #1 on the Alternative Chart.

My goddaughter ended up playing the record 12 times over 2 days. I guess she likes it, haha.

I’m getting confused by all these charts now, this was tweeted by Billboard earlier, I don’t get it. What’s the difference between this and Billboard 200???

I think there's all sorts of weird algorithms now that balance paid download, paid physical copies, paid streaming services, etc. Not as straightforward as it used to be with just pure sales.

    Edit: See this.

I want them to work with Billie Eilish and Tyler, the Creator...preferably all on the same project, now that I think about it.

Eilish , no thanks, I think she’s just a trend. But Tyler the creator - that sounds fun!

Have you actually sat down and given When We All Fall Asleep a chance?
I'm 41. There isn't much of ANYTHING new that grabs me these days. In the past ten years or so, I've seriously gotten into five or six new bands. My wife is the same way. Billie's debut is one of our favorite albums of the past decade. Hell, it's one of my favorite albums, PERIOD.
Sure, I get that she's trendy, and that she had a LOT of industry push. And, of course, music is subjective: we obviously might not like the same things.

But I wouldn't write her off just because she's so popular. Her production, (all done by her brother, with whom she was homeschooled,) is gorgeous. The songwriting is top notch. The lyrics are eerie and dark. And her voice is inimitable.

If you've heard the record and don't like it, that's what that is. But if you're just writing her off because she seems too trendy, or looks like an "industry plant," I'd seriously urge you to check that first album out on a nice pair of headphones.

Just realized the lyrics to "Bells in Santa Fe" are not actually "Jesus needed a three-day weekend / to sort out all his bullshit, figurе out the trees, and..."

The song feels much less silly now!

    (It's "treason".)

Someone on Discogs says a Capitol representative has indicated a new pressing of the Target CD edition will include PDH on the disc (link). Fingers crossed...

Well I'm still stuck on "Don't wait for me, don't wait for me, waiter, It's not a happy ending". Like she's not ready to order her entrée yet.

Hey Capitol Records, this ^^ is why you should always put lyrics & liner notes inside a vinyl or CD booklet, not on some obscure webpage!

On the r/H sub, there's a note that UMG has been notified of the IMAX CD having the cross design instead of the exclusive design.

I mean that's on the artist in the end, right? they approve packaging. and if you don't think that Halsey wasn't intimately involved with the packaging after all the stuff for this album I don't know what to tell ya. :P

vvv I had a bit of a something about Mary hair gel moment when I pasted the google drive link as an image instead of the GIF link I wanted to use but didn't see where it went.

    But also:

edit: lol, I've certainly done something similar. I use "copy image" for digital track tagging so when I'm pasting an image here muscle memory takes over and I'm left wondering why the URL isn't pasting. :P

Well, we finally really took a deep dive into the record.
And it's GOOD. I respect it. It's well crafted. It's decent songwriting.
SADLY, though, there are only a couple of songs that my wife and i are likely to revisit.
It's DAMN sure not BAD, by any stretch of the imagination.
It's certainly a lovely, meticulously produced set of songs.
It's just that a lot of it doesn't really grab my attention.
I sure don't dig it as much as i dig the new Billie Eilish, or the new Tyler the Creator.
And i'm too old for albums that are "pretty good." I'm 41. I figure i've got 19 years left, at the most.

So, yeah, i enjoyed it, definitely. But, most of it isn't going on the playlist.

I'd advise giving it a few more chances before settling on an opinion. The difference between my first listen and fourth listen was pretty remarkable.

i think you misunderstood what i meant by "deep dive."
this WAS our third or fourth time hearing these songs, at LEAST and sixth or seventh for a few of them.
It was just the first time we really, really paid attention, and stayed silent for the entire thing.
We don't really like it, aside from two or three songs. The rest are decent. But again, we don't have TIME left for "decent." I'm 41 with an autoimmune disease that cuts 15 years off my projected lifespan. My wife is 41 with liver damage.
So, at this point, we go for all killer, no filler.
With all due respect, i'm GOD damn sure not listening to it three or four more times. :P

I'm glad you guys dig it so much. I'm glad we dig part of it.

Part of me thinks this is aesthetically pleasing, but the other part is thinking too many variants.

They're missing the censored cover for the pick and the test pressing... not a "REAL" collector.

Must admit I was gutted when I read that it was Treason, not Trees!

    And the 'waiter' non-lyric...!

Not sure why anyone would think that it was "trees" when she's singing about Jesus and Judas.
