Can't retweet this enough -- 4 and 5 just suck -- only redeeming quality of 4 is Timothy Olyphant who is a fun actor to watch on-screen. re-watched 3 (with a Vengeance) and John McTiernan brought something exciting to the movies

i maintain that, with most trilogies, the second entry is either the best or the worst of the three (never that it's bad, just that it's not as good as the others). die hard falls into the latter category, as does indiana jones. but the original star wars trilogy falls into the former category, as does the cornetto trilogy, and back to the future.

it's always been my favorite. the trip to the future, the overlapping with the first movie without actually interfering with it so no retconning is necessary. the only bad thing is a lack of crispin glover.

I think I agree that the first is the best. Don't get me wrong, 2 is a lot of fun, but...

-Too many homages to the previous movie.
-New Jennifer's acting is weak (rewatch that first scene when they're in the car after just arriving the future, yeesh).
-NO CRISPIN GLOVER!!!
-And my biggest gripe: it breaks its own time travel rules.

It's probably the most interesting story though, and further redeemed by Michael J Fox's outstanding performance as Marty's daughter.

BTF2 had no right to be as good as it was given the main actor replacements and stuff but it works somehow. Fox owned that movie.

Instead of repeating the usual suspects i'll go for these even if they arn't technically trilogies..

i love all three ocean's movies. a lot of people don't like 12 but the score alone should redeem it. plus, it's super fun!

It's a shame that Glover wasn't in 3 as Seamus, which was originally meant for him, although I think Fox did a good job in the role.

Finally, “Toy Story 3” wrapped the entire series up while also addressing the passage of time. The final 30 minutes feature some of the most wrenching moments in Pixar’s history.....Only time will tell if it lives up to the previous entries in the trilogy. However, the bar is set very high with this already perfect trilogy.

Toy Story as a quadrilogy? When I saw it in the theater, I wasn't really happy with how 3 ended. Its major fault being how it left the story arc hanging. Once 4 came out and finished it properly, 3 was upgraded to a solid mid-series movie.
