I had a Dr pull that chart out. Those questions are pretty standard and not indicative of a "problem with the system." It's to get a feel for their current state and what their pain tolerance actually is. It's an extremely subjective thing you are trying to measure. There is only so much the Dr can asses about pain by observing the patient. Self-assessment is the primary source of info for pain diagnostics.

Do you people think other countries have a magic sensor the detects pain? *facepalm* Of course a spouse is going to want their partner to be in zero pain but cmon... you are assuming incorrectly about what that scale is for.

    Favorite Gary quote so far…

"149 Beats per minute, how is that possible? JACK IT UP ONE! I get 50 quid if I got a 150BPM song!"

And of course the song at the end of the trailer, "Everything bleeds." - simple and to the point.

Yep, that's Love Hurt Bleed. I love how that keyboard melody is almost like Slave from Jagged but slightly different.

Been really getting into Numan again the last few days. Current favorite track is My Dying Machine. I'm glad he's still releasing new material. DSR was awesome in my book. Can't wait to hear how Splinter sounds.

Gary Numan Official @numanofficial 4am. I think that's about it for Lollapalooza 2013. Great festival. Looking forward to getting home tomorrow. More new songs to finish. GN

I didn't want to spoil too much, but I flicked through the clips. I have to be honest and say not a lot of it surprised or impressed me like I was expecting it to. I'm going to put it down to only hearing little bits. I'm sure the full product will be awesome and the tracks will grow.

Here In The Black reminds me a lot of Rob Zombie and the title track Splinter sounds amazing.

Lots more ballad-types than I would have expected given the "wall of sound" description of the record.

Yeah I think that's what threw me off a bit, I was expecting it to be quite heavy with big choruses because that's what he'd described it as a while ago. I guess it morphed into this. It's harder to judge those kinds of songs on clips than loud catchier songs too.

Plus they only go for 1:30 each, the clips. The heavy parts may be elsewhere.

Incidentally I'm loving the finished version of Everything Comes Down To This.

Also Gary is still working on new songs at the moment so that's great, and the VIP Splinter packages for the US tour will feature another track on a promo CD, so still lots to come. Including the DVD version of Machine Music Live.

Gary Numan Film Is The Osbournes With Asperger’s

Movie documents new album Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind). Latest trailer is exclusive to MOJO.

By Danny Eccleston August 6, 2013

FORTHCOMING GARY NUMAN documentary, Android In La La Land, promises a touching and funny insight into the strangely normal world of Numan, the dark(ish) lord of gothic synth-rock.
The latest trailer is here, exclusive to MOJO.

Directed by former Select and Loaded magazine art director Steve Read, the film relates the Numan family’s relocation to Los Angeles and the recording of a new album entitled Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind). It follows the 55-year-old on the road and features all the panic attacks, crises of confidence and painfully awkward pronouncements that Numan-watchers have come to know and, in a strange way, love.
It casts particularly keen light on Numan’s experience of, and attitude towards, rock star fame.
“The whole fame thing,” says Numan. “It’s like, imagine you’re standing at a train station and this express train comes flying through, and you put your hand out and you grab it and it whisks you away at lightning speed and everything is a blur. Then, at some point, you lose your grip, and you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, a bit beaten up and totally lost.”
Here’s a longer, older trailer, with more of a taste of the film in toto.

Android In La La Land is due in early 2014. Meanwhile, Numan activity continues with the release of Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind) on October 14 through Mortal Records. There’s a vintage-sounding blast of epic-industrial crunch available to hear via SoundCloud (embed below) called I Am Dust. And here we were thinking … Maybe he crumbled.
British Numan fans may also care to note that there’s also a Splinter UK tour in November…
    7th Bristol 02 Academy (£25)
8th Ireland Dublin Button Factory (25 Euros)
    11th Sheffield 02 Academy (£25)
    12th Newcastle 02 Academy (£25)
    13th Glasgow 02 ABC (£25)
    14th Manchester Academy (£27.50)
    15th Oxford 02 Academy (£25)
    16th London Roundhouse (£32.50)
    18th Brighton The Dome (£25)
    19th Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (£27.50)

Didn't manage to catch any of the Splinter clips, but I am loving 'I Am Dust'. Reminds me of a more polished Pure. Big hopes for the rest of the album, I'm happy Gary has become a bit more prolific these last couple of years.

It would be great if I could get that import

EDIT: I'm pretty sure that some of them would show up on ebay or something, so I might try to do that. I can't read Japanese so I don't know how else to get a copy.

It's also on amazon.co.jp and hmv.co.jp which have also English available for language option. Are there any news about the release if there's going to be a "super deluxe edition" of the record like Dead Son Rising had?

Well, hmv.co.jp had my total at $32.07 (including shipping). I might wait until release date draws near before I order the japanese version. I didn't see any option for language settings on amazon.co.jp so I don't know what the price would be through them. Hmm, or I might wait and try to download "The Dark in Me" through unofficial channels but I would really like an import. I haven't had a japanese import of anything before.

Also, I created this catch-all thread at NumanME:
