    New nin.com website

I think this deserves its own thread.

Some interesting things in the Discography tab of the new website:
    1) Recoiled is in 'NINE INCH NAILS: ALL HALOS' section, does this mean Recoiled is halo 29 and the new EP is halo 30?
    2) nin.wiki pages are linked for 'more information'
    3) Quake soundtrfack: 'WE ARE WORKING ON MAKING THIS AVAILABLE!'

I hope not, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think Robin has released anything solo (or as the lead of another band) to have that added to the list. I'm excited to hear that video game soundtrack he's been working on, and hope to see him on stage if/when Trent tours again.

And there's no point in trying to add albums that Josh Freese has worked on, that would be enough to crash the site before we even tried to visit.

You can get his OST right now if you buy the game (it's an add on DLC but hey, I'm sure you've spent so much today that this won't even be a blip) http://store.steampowered.com/app/413060/

I don't know if that's already been mentioned somewhere on here, but the page title is a nice touch.

Also interesting to see official acknowledgment of Recoiled from Trent. Did he ever talk about that when it first came out?

A collaboration between Reznor / Ross, Mogwai and Gustavo Santaolalla for Fisher Steven’s acclaimed climate change documentary. Released worldwide days before the US election, it failed to help prevent the US from electing an unqualified madman to office.

    Anyway, the music is excellent.

Clicking through and reading the little descriptions for everything is pretty fun. I wonder who wrote those. They seem conversational enough to be done by Trent himself.

Did anyone else have to create a new account? Had mine since '08 but couldn't log on because it didn't recognize my email. Last ordered around HM time frame.

Did you intentionally write FIRST FUCK in the description for Fixed on the new site to play with our collective OCD?

Also, Zero-Sum is missing the hyphen in the write up for Year Zero and Help Me I Am In Hell is abbreviated to "I'm" in the new vinyl release section for it.

This is my version of painstaking attention to detail.

So, has anyone mentioned the AATCHB write up anywhere yet?

LIVE: AND ALL THAT COULD HAVE BEEN [2002]

A LIVE RECORDING COMPILED FROM THE FRAGILITY 2.0 TOUR, SUMMER 2000. ALSO A VIDEO WHICH IS PROBABLY OUT OF PRINT – WORKING ON IT.

A VIDEO WHICH IS PROBABLY OUT OF PRINT – WORKING ON IT.

So... we have a new EP that is an obvious callback to AATCHB/Still's artwork.
We have a special new version of The Fragile with a bunch of never before heard songs.
Trent is working on AATCHB being available again.
We have an e-mail list we can sign up for that will let us know when tickets go on sale.
We have APC touring next year.

Trent, can we finally have that Fragile-heavy tour? I missed out on Fragility 2.0 by a few months, can we have a Fragility 3.0?

Regardless of the new EP and the amazing definitive vinyl collection waiting for us, I am not very happy with the new website, that I find less handy and uglier than the tumblr before. But whatever. What makes me sad is that it seems that we lose all the websites in ****.nin.com, like remix, theslip (so it's impossible to get the album for free anymore), and even strobelights... That is sad. I hope some people made backups of these, and as nin.wiki becomes a source even for nin.com, I wonder if those archive files shouldn't get there ...

(did you notice that on the first sentence or so he speaks about Juno... And in the store making two paragraph about how good it is to listen vinyl and music in good quality ? Well release Juno in CD quality at least...)

If portraitofdecay's archive still exists offline somewhere, we really should crowdfund some kind of permanent archive with the community

    I cannot agree more.

concerning nin.wiki it would be funny to add all the little commentaries going with the discography. The "live" (AATCHB, Still, and BYIT) are making me curious about the future...

The old forums may officially be dead.

They were up this afternoon, but forum.nin.com is now kaput.

a damn shame. I really enjoyed going on there and reading posts from 8 years ago, etc. I understand it though, that forum was a ghost town compared to this one

I'll miss the show threads more than anything. Those should be archived and published somewhere. I distinctly remember live-reading the epic Wiltern set late into the night.

The official forums were almost nine years old. That's amazing; I hadn't realized it'd been that long since the Slip overhaul. I guess Trent just finally realized that ETS is where the core fanbase resides..
The only thing that bothers me about the switch is that I spent a great deal of hours doing the NIN Elections over there, and did them in a way where each previous election was archived within the newer ones and you could find every result. I was going to pick it back up for Not The Actual Events, but I guess I will be doing it over here!

Although, in this record's defense, I paid for it in '98 (when the cost of a record was 1.5 hours of minimum wage work) and didn't regret it; I still own it; I've listened to at least one track in the last year. That's more than I can say about a lot of crap I've bumped into over the years.
What did the website have to say about 2wo? Whatever was written seems to be removed now..I actually really enjoyed that album when it was released, but haven't thought about it in quite some time.

I was just happy to have fresh new NIN in one form or another, last I had heard was The Perfect Drug on the Lost Highway soundtrack and it seemed like an eternity. Little did I know, the 1999 - 2005 drought was around the corner...

It's still down for me. I'd like to do some pre-ordering, but I have to be patient. I don't like being patient, because I'm whiny, and entitled.
