Me too. Had heard he was having hip trouble and it got to the point where they had to do a show with a tech filling in for him. But man, this was still a shock. So shitty. They were just on the verge of a new album and tour, as well...

My wife mentioned his passing to me today but she also said "I guess the casino will have to figure out what to do with all the tickets to the sold out show". Not my first thought but ok.

Billy Gibbons has said they're going to finish out the current tour dates with the tech continuing to fill in on bass. I can't imagine the band would want to cancel after making a promise to Dusty that they'd go on without him.

I was supposed to see them, for the first time, in Amarillo, in 2020. They're one of the very, VERY few good bands cool enough to come to Amarillo. Obviously i didn't get to go.
God bless him, his family, and that Lil' Old Band from Texas. Rip.
I sure didn't notice a make-up date for Amarillo on the new schedule, either. I hope there's another leg, though, even if Dusty IS missing.
I think you have to turn in your Texas card if you haven't seen ZZ by the time you're 40, and i'm just lucky they haven't caught me yet.

I understand that he was in a "no shave" challenge during Covid layoff, too... so he actually came out onstage with a full beard. Good read about Billy's state of mind in that Variety article, too. I can only imagine...

RIP. Night Court is soooo underrated as far as sitcoms go. Sad that most of the cast are now gone.
