Yeah, not shocked, but it's sad it ended that way.

The bits and pieces that are coming out seem to suggest he had a heart attack while he was in there.

What an awful way to go. Especially after struggling with addiction for so long, being clean, and then this.

I only got to see them once, but it was opening for Tool and the sound and seats sucked. And I had a seizure at that show, so all in all not a great memory. The whole time they were playing I remembered thinking that I'd like to see them do their own show where they headlined, and I guess I never will. Amazing band. RIP

Of all the mainstream headlines I've seen so far, Rolling Stone has done the best...

This...This hits me really fucking hard. I only ever got to see the band live once, but I did get to hang out with the band before the show started and spoke with Geordie briefly before he went backstage.
As a side note, I think he was in a bad mood that day, so I don't blame him, but it gave everyone else during the VIP experience more time to talk with the rest of the band before they did the sound check.
One of my all-time favorite bands, Killing Joke, will forever remain influential to all musicians directly and indirectly.
May Geordie Rest In Peace and jam out with Raven in heaven!

    Agreed. Lear was a master.

He did Harmontown some years ago and man, what a treat that was. I should do a relisten.

Matthew Perry's cause of death was released. Ketamine overdose. Apparently he had been undergoing ketamine therapy to treat anxiety and depression, but the coroner said the ketamine in his system couldn't have been from that.

Ketamine treatments for depression are administered by a doctor. They don't give it to you for you to take home and handle yourself. It's also very different from the kind of recreational use that Perry was probably engaging in before he died. They should have probably moved towards giving the medical depression treatment a different name; it's completely mired in attempts to disassociate it from snorting lines of it. Doing ketamine recreationally and then sitting in a body of water is probably a bad idea, especially if you're taking enough so that it could send you into a K-hole... where you don't know what planet you're on or how to spell the letter Q.... though in this case, it seems like the K induced a heart attack and he drowned. Hopefully he was out of it in a deep k-hole, because having a heart attack while you drown to death sounds like an incredibly shitty way to go fully conscious.

He was also in poor health, smoking 2x packs of cigarettes a day. He had emphysema. His body just couldn't handle it.

I always liked him. Perry was the funniest and most relatable character on that show.

I found out very late that day about his passing and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I don't want him to be gone, this fucking sucks. Max Payne is one of my all time favourite game characters, i literally JUST finished playing Max Payne 2 and 3 again this past month.

Hearing James bring this character to life was comparable to the gravitas of Kevin Conroy's Batman/Bruce.. (who just so happened to voice some baddies in MP2)

"Call it denial. I wanted to dig inside my skull and scrape out the pain."
