EDIT: Just finished my first listen. Pretty good record. I enjoy it more than Meliora. I would still rank infestissumam as my #1 record, but this was a pleasant surprise.
I'm used to a huge epic closing song though, and I felt that this record didn't really have that, but overall great record.

Highlights other than the singles were: See the Light, Miasma, Pro Memoria and It's a Sin. Despite not being the huge epic closer I was expecting, I still really liked Avalanche as well.

I'd give is a solid 8/10 upon first listen.
Actually, "Life Eternal" is the closing track. The last two songs are cover songs on the Deluxe version.

Oh shit, no way! That makes a lot of sense. While I was listening to "avalanche" a 2nd time I said "why do I get a feeling this is a cover song" it sounds like it belongs on popstar actually.

If you got the same email I got it actually said the merchandise was delayed but that the album would ship on time. So there's good news there.

Yes, that's what I meant - sorry. I hope it comes sooner than later!

It’s been unusually hotter than shit here since last Friday, will see what happened. Step son was there and my wife was in touch with him just now- apparently about 45 mins into their set they shut it down with a medical icident in the pit/GA.

RIP to the person and condolences to the family. Sad.

EDIT: he said it was during the intermission, nothing unusual and security started escorting people out. Theatre wasn’t noticeably warm despite the unusual heat wave around here. Prayers out to them.

So, the album covers are all different. There are four, possible five ,variants of the cover. The artwork is the same , but each variant comes with a horseman on the cover somewhere in the picture.

    Fuck.

Well, the music is amazing. The downfall of this album is that its less than 30 minutes if you dont count the covers. Less if you dont count instrumentals. Wish we had gotten a more fleshed out album with more songs.

Also, I feel like they( or he) decided not to make this record “heavy” after they ( or he) gad described it as a heavier record. Even with the theme of death, it still feels like the party continues.

Like I said, the music is amazing and the lyrics are great as usual. Hope to catch a show from this era. But the lack of length and girth to the album and I guess my hype is going to have to bring this baby to a 7/10.

A Ghost FB group that I'm a part of said that security was terrible last night in handling the situation. They were more concerned with getting people out of the venue than trying to do CPR on him. There were nurses at the show that offered to do CPR on him, but security said only official certified people were allowed to handle the situation. Fans were asking them if someone called 911 and no one knew. Cops and ambulance didn't arrive until 10 - 15 minutes later. Such a shame.

Always, always, always call 911 right away whenever you're in situation like this!

Wikipedia says the album is about 42 mins and the covers bring it to about 51 mins. I don't know myself, my copy is out for delivery.

Pro memoria ends the record correct? If so, if I am correctly mathing this morning, that comes out to about 28 min 41 sec.

Edit: nevermind I wasnt listening to the deluxe edition. So scratch that the record being short. Ok that makes me feel better and raise my score to 8/10

Has anyone here ever bought an nameless ghoul mask? If so, how durable is it? I am thinking about dressing up as one for Halloween.

I love the album but could do without the two instrumentals. Not my favorite album by the band but it’s awesome.

    i adore both covers.

I've seen them at the shows, they look like they're made from flimsy rubber, whereas the real ghoul masks look like hard plastic.

I only know this because I'm a member of a Ghost fan group on Facebook, but if you're going to dress as a Nameless Ghoul for Halloween, get one from Trick or Treat Studios. They're made of a hard resin and look to be pretty good quality.

Thanks! I’m gonna buy the Papa Emeritus II and Ghoul enamel pins for my my battle jacket vest.

My friend tells me Omega and the rest in Magna Carta Cartel are thanked in the liner notes. Friends still? That’s cool.

Watching the Rats video & a YouTube clip of Pro Memoria live at first I thought the Cardinal Copia mask wasn't as good as the Papa Emeritus ones, but after looking closely at a couple of clips I'm familiar with from the Meliora cycle (Cirice from Colbert, Carolina Rebellion from AXS TV), I think that without the Papa facepaint the Cardinal mask is just too far in the Uncanny Valley. The facepaint hid the fact that the Papa mask wasn't very expressive, but the Cardinal Copia mask doesn't have that to hide behind.

Great album. I'd say I'm not as much into "See the Light" and "Life Eternal" as the other tunes. I laughed when I saw that the lyrics of "Dance Macabre" were "I wanna bewitch you in the moonlight".

I'd love it too but minus If You Have Ghost, I don't think they have played any of the covers live?

Nocturnal Me would be awesome live too.

I could do without both instrumentals. See The Light, Witch Image and Life Eternal need to grow on me for me to judge them. Witch Image totally sounds like a Subvision song.

My deluxe Prequelle vinyl is out for delivery. I'll take photos for those to see when I get it.

Truth be told, I avoided this band until recently because I felt that both their lyrics and image were too "obvious" for a rock band (the religious stuff.)

They played Bible once in Stockholm.

And, when they first came to the scene, they played here comes the sun alot in their first tours.

    I just got my album!

Major complaint is the fact the 7" with the covers has pretty much been seam split on every side and run ragged thanks to shipping. The sleeve is borderline useless and it pisses me off. The actual album itself has a crease in the spine too from shipping. My original copy was pre-ordered as the clear with grey smoke edition but somehow got swapped to the red version.

    Whatever. Still cool!
