Looked for a thread and couldn't find it. No new album, just a 10th anniversary re-release, Coachella show, and a few more festival dates.
It would be cool if they added the b-sides from the era of the album. Gibbard said in a recent interview: "As of November 2012, Ben Gibbard posted on his Twitter account that there are "no plans" to produce another Postal Service record. He did not cite any specific reason for this statement, other than the fact that multiple fans questioned if there was going to be a second album"
I saw him live in November in NYC and what a treat that show was. We got 3 Postal Service songs and some solo and Death Cab all at once... Hearing Recycled Air was pure euphoria.
Not a bad band. Not something I turn on often but definitely better than Deathcab For Cutie.

reeks of a cash grab. better than letting the project die completely though.
As excited as my old high school self from ten years ago is for this reunion, Gibbard is probably only doing it because no one gives a fuck about Death Cab anymore.
nobody gives a crap about ben gibbard in general anymore.
I personally could never stand him outside of postal service. and then postal service got so played out that I couldnt stand that project.
I recently listened back to the album. there is definitely some genius there, but i could only take one listen. I still have overload from it from 10 years ago.
Fuck yes!!!!! I couldn't ask for more here after 10 years of silence. I see this as them giving the die hard fans at least something if they have no intentions of making a new album; as a fan I will definitely be buying this.
I highly disagree that this a just a cash grab... both are always busy in their careers, and I highly doubt Gibbard is desperate for any funds what so ever. Also, I saw him live in NYC for a solo show and it was a dam treat to listen to him sing some songs in front of a sell out crowd... people still seem to care in my book. Death Cab is getting a bit old for me though.. I don't really see them progressing anymore in their sound to be honest. Every time I listen to them now I go back to We Still Have The Facts, and Something About Airplanes.
Plus, we get an Iron and Wine and The Shins covers?? Beautiful.

Tour Dates. But $61.00 a ticket in NY?? Seems high for a band that has been non-existent for 11 years.
$61, AND attempting to play an arena? Are they curtaining off part of Barclays? if not, that place will be filled with free tix. what a joke.
Song is incredibly bouncy and bright. Hrmm.
It's okay but even at their most poppy, I've liked The Postal Service for still sounding so down tempo at times.
