Didn't know if this belongs here or the Trump YZ thread.
For years, I've been contemplating writing up a story directly related to Year Zero. You could probably call it fanfiction; you might even call it a spec script. But now I'm feeling like, well, we're going to be living all of it soon enough anyway.
He looks unshowered
It's kind of disappointing having to stalk around reddit and Facebook groups to see any meaty NIN conversations. Fuddy-duddy.
I've been listening to Genesis's Invisible Touch again recently, and I finally notice a straaange similarity between "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" and "Sanctified." Had late-80s/early-90s TR ever mentioned Genesis/Phil Collins as one of his influences besides the usual suspects (New Wave, industrial, etc.)? You can almost hum the "Sanctified" bass and sing the verses to the song over it:
1:02 of Pilgrimmage is amazing. Sounds like everything is coming down on the protagonist
This is very random, so I thought it would just go in here just like any of my other random NIN thoughts did. Anyway, it just occurred to me yet again, that a very faint portion of the music in the chorus of Various Methods Of Escape actually reminded me about the sound the item boxes make in just about any Mario Kart game.
To this day, I have never heard a single cover of Closer where the person covering it got the synth after the chorus to sound the same. Always makes me laugh
Don't know if anyone else here listens to The Adventure Zone, but seeing as the current arc is lined up to end today -- every time Griffin describes it, I can't help thinking about how much the way Spoiler: The Hunger invades/manifests reminds me of The Presence.
My lovely new hat.

black on black? awesomeness
I really dig Maybe Just Once and Purest Feeling. Those songs were never going to work in a NIN context, but they're so goddamn catchy.
anxiously waiting for my NTAE vinyl, AV physical component, and Fragile Vinyl, no update with my tracking number..but i heard they may just show up before any progress on USPS.
uh, that's @Blackbookpress1984
also, why are you posting this in NIN spotting and not in the marketplace?
I got anxiety over the possibility that leaving vinyl shrink-wrapped might warp it, and finally opened my Year Zero LP last night after years stashed away.
It's fine.
Now you guys have me worried. I'm gonna go open all my vinyl now, just to be sure it's all ok.
I usually cut an "H" shape into the shrinkwrap from the back. All the way across the center back of the wrap, then a small cut up and down on both sides. This allows you to still use the shrinkwrap without the normal pressure.
Alternately, you can cut across the center back of the wrap, and then put a slice in all four corners. I prefer the "H" shape because it's easier to get the vinyl in/out.

Just saw some interesting fake/bootleg Blu Ray Ghosts releases on eBay, all from Russia. I won't bother linking.
Some other CA-based seller is sellign Deluxe Ghosts for $90; but what got me is they've sold 41 already. Jesus! they've been sitting on nearly 50 of them.
I had NIN on shuffle in my car (as usual), and "You Know What You Are" came on. Outside of THTF, RWIB, Only, EDIETS, and ATLITW, I really don't listen to the album as much as I should. There really are some pretty great tracks on there.
