I'd have to agree. It's going in a descending order, the best show of theirs I saw was in 2000, then 2003 with NIN, and then last year in Seattle. Still thought all were well worth seeing though.

No, I don't know why the fuck I typed 'with NIN' in that post. It was just them headlining in Calgary.
It's been a while lol. If I'm correct, it was...August-ish? I just remember since it was about a few weeks after my 22nd birthday and a friend got us tickets. I could be off on the date but I'm sure it was August.
So am I right in hearing that Passive is somehow connected to Tapeworm?
It was originally a song done for the Tapeworm project called "Vacant" that APC covered on the 2001 tour. Much heavier than "Passive". "Passive" was recorded for emotive and is very different than the version of "Vacant" that they played live. "Potions" by Puscifer was also a Tapeworm song.
Thirteenth Step is a fantastic album. Streets ahead of Mer De Noms.
I like Emotive more than 13th Step. Make of that what you will.
I can see how you guys can like it better. There are a lot of songs on Emotive that I like over some songs on 13th Step. I have noticed the more and more I have listened to 13th Step, the more I found myself skipping tracks and rolling my eyes because to me the songs just get old and forgettable (not all of them). Emotive is very diverse from the rest APC's catalogue, and some tracks really shine because of that. Honestly, I cannot even say what my favorite album would be.
I recorded two bootlegs over the summer and never released them. I like both the versions of By and Down that I got.
I'm surprised everyone was so bummed out about this tour in general... I mean, sure, I'd love more MDN and TS, but the eMOTIVe shit was a whole lot better live than on the record. I also thought the band was in high spirits, had a lot of energy... and MJ was much more active and than he's been the last 4 times I saw him with his other band.
yeah but you're a seemingly blind superfan who gushes about everything Maynard does on multiple messageboards, so of course that would be your opinion.
i must have missed those. sorry man.
Good stuff.
afaik it was broadcasted by MTV. the audio is available as a bootleg called "phoenix rising". I really love it since it they play "sleeping beauty" with the extended intro.
does audio or video exist of when Troy joined the band for Ashes to Ashes back in 2010?
They only played for 43 minutes?
and had one 40-minute record out!
At that time they were short of material anyway. Aside from what they played while supporting NIN, their headline shows would include some of the following: heavy full-band version of Over, full-band version of Renholder (not just prerecorded), Ashes to Ashes, 3 Libras Remix and Ozzy's Cure (aka Diary of a Lovesong). Can't think of anything else they could play on the first tour.
there's an actual bootleg called Live in Phoenix that is the audio source for bootlegs (like Phoenix Rising), though some of them may also be ripped from the video.
I believe there was some kind of promo CD for that Phoenix show because the audio version that I have kicks incredible amount of ass and sounds like a proper live album.
Where can I get a copy of this awesome audio?
wondering if Maynard still has those pajamas
