There is no single definitive Marxist theory; Marxist analysis has been applied to diverse subjects and has been misconceived and modified during the course of its development, resulting in numerous and sometimes contradictory theories that fall under the rubric of Marxism or Marxian analysis

    Yeah, poor me.

There are many Marxist writers and thinkers, but the core values of Marxism are pretty well defined within Karl Marx's writing. Primarily in [I]Capital[I]. But yeah, this is way off topic.

Well, but I love studying Marxism (particularly applying Marxist literary criticism in English literature) and if someone's gonna call people Marxist, at least know a general idea of what the fuck Marxism is. Most Americans don't. The term is thrown around because it's used on television as a buzzword. For SURE, Obama ain't no fucking Marxist. He Capitalist to the fucking core.

When Kennedy was killed in Dallas, a lot of people wanted him dead because of this dumb ass "KennedyCare" idea he had, which eventually became "Medicare" under Johnson. The Affordable Care Act, however, is nothing like Medicare; the ACA makes the Big Insurance Companies rich (they mostly wrote the Act), and medical care not any more "affordable" than it was 8 years ago. That's about as "Marxist" as General Motors.

I have had to study it extensively. Along with conservatism, liberalism etc so don't start with the, "all colleges are full of socialist professors" stuff green. But it is pretty amusing listening to conservative talk radio and counting how many times socialism, Marxism or communism are misused. Even here in Canada, I think the average person has a warped understanding of the terms. Partially because of how much American content is consumed here.

I mentioned Obama, not the political corruption of a few college professors held over their students. Don't know why you make that assumption about me, but okay.

I have a theory that conservative talk radio producers are older and remember the cold war and how easy it was to make key words like 'communism' and 'USSR' into the boogie monster. I'd like to think as they age out this would change, but really in the last 15 years they've pivoted to other boogie man words.

It pisses me off that I've learned to ignore most of that noise, but get irritated with some of the ignorance that happens here. I thank you all calm folk for educating rather than flaming. Moving to the cheer me up thread.

Not off topic at all. I posted something that pisses me off and you guy call me an idiot for it. Actually that is a bit off topic, huh? Later icecream.
