i was wondering if they were gonna release that.
also srsly there was no zeppelin thread?? what is this board coming to?!
to me, they're as overplayed as the beatles, but an irrefutablely legendary band. 'no quarter' was always my favorite track. houses of the holy doesn't get enough love compared to the first four records...
I don't care how many times I've heard their songs and I don't care which songs they completely ripped off, this band was a force of nature in my humble book of opinions.
NO band continues to make chills run up my spine like this band.
there truly was no rock and roll band like them. bands try today and fall very very short.
One of the few regrets I have in my life is that I've never seen them live. I can't wait for this!
I listened to all the studio albums a few months ago. The quality of each one and as a whole is staggering. Given the now-legendary myth-like status of their debauchery, one can easily tell they worked hard to earn those rewards. It can be boiled down to any number of things, the chemistry of the four guys being the primary one. They were also incredibly lucky to have found themselves in the primes of their careers when major rock bands were allowed to be musicians, not beholden to any trends or fads. They certainly weren't the only ones, but very few other bands had constant quality as they did.

one of my personal faves. just listened to it the other day.
Of course, Page and Jones were successful session musicians before Zeppelin. I think that's a lot of why they're so great.

They had constant STUDIO quality. Most of their late-70s live shows were AWFUL (including the one I saw in '77). Page was way too drunk.

Always hated that reggae track on "houses...", tbh. I could never get into I'm Broken by pantera because the riff is so blatantly nicked from "the ocean"
i like the chorus, but agreed on those obnoxious verses. the only sore spot on an otherwise great record.
I'm so tired of seeing this thread bumped with no new album news. Assholes.
HA!! When Pig Robert Plants Fly.
It's also been announced that the band will be recipients of this year's Kennedy Center honors with Buddy Guy and Dustin Hoffman among others.

Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit
Now excuse while i'm changing my pants
Presence is easily my least favorite, but it does have three pretty standout tracks ("Achilles Last Stand", which is guitar texturing 101, the balls-out "Nobody's Fault But Mine", and "Tea For One". an awesome chill album closer). In Through The Out Door is a step up for me, since JPJ brought the keyboards back in force.
The Hammer of the Gods! Physical Graffiti is my favorite Zeppelin album. It's all over the place but it's filled with a shitload of good stuff.
IN CINEMAS??!?!?!??
Holy shit, I gotta go find me some weed!!!!
im getting it regardless, but that teaser shows that it might possibly have alot of fast edits, and i HATE that. let the show breathe!

Jimmy Page remastering Zeppelin albums for 2013 boxset release
Fuckin' A.Speaking about his plans, Page told the magazine: "There are a number of Led Zeppelin projects that will come out next year because there are different versions of tracks that we have that can be added to the album so there will be box sets of material that will come out, starting next year. There will be one box set per album with extra music that will surface."
