Anyone seen that $900 picture book Anton Corbijn has just released? LOL at that price.

Yeah, ridiculous. And apparently the price even went up to $2,000 before it sold out. It was signed by Anton and DM, but come on.
There's a "standard" edition now that's $150. That's closer to the price point of the original version of the U2 book he did some years ago.

Random Depeche-bump. Two things:
1) Does anyone else always get total goosebumps and just feel in awe whenever you hear these lyrics sung in WFTN?
I'm waiting for the night to fall
When everything is bearable
And there in the still, all that you feel
Is tranquility
There is a sound in the calm
Someone is coming to harm
I press my hands to my ears
It's easier here just to forget fear
And when I squinted, the world seemed rose-tinted
Angels appeared to descend
To my surprise, with half-closed eyes
Things looked even better than when they were open…
2) I’ve noticed not a lot of people are aware that Dave’s first “solo” song predating Paper Monsters in 2003 was a cover of “A Song For Europe” by Roxy Music. I get this stuck in my head all the time. For anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure:
And, indeed, this, if you have never seen/heard:
Dave has joined 52 other artists in covering a song from Metallica’s The Black Album for "The @metallica
Blacklist" out Sept 10th. All proceeds from Dave's cover of “Nothing Else Matters” go to Metallica’s @AWMHFoundation
& @wckitchen

pass.
will be passing too. I actually haven't bought any of the remasters
I’ll still be interested to hear Dave’s cover.
I listen to everything Dave does so I will definitely check this out although I already know exactly how it is going to sound and I haven't even heard it yet. Probably like Dave's Soulsavers solo albums. Dave will be doing his Nick Cave thing on top of some rustic acoustic guitar

What is it with DM and their remixed song titles totally matching the feel of the remix?
There we go! Ultra was my first full DM album, and I played the hell out of it.
I'm not sure why they're including both the Dom T and Bass Bounce mixes of It's No Good; afaik they're the same damn thing. It's a waste to have not also included the rare Club 69 12" promo mixes. That being said, this might be the first super interesting box release, because many of these tracks have never been pressed on vinyl before.
Fuck, I want it but that price is keeping me away
I popped on Delta Machine the other day and realized I liked it a lot more than I originally gave it credit.
Man, that remix title comment is so true. Mike Shinoda's reinterpretation of Enjoy the Silence is exactly what you'd think it would sound like.
Speaking of ETS, I think I have about 15 different covers of that sucker, but Failure's cover is number one.
Yeah, like they’re always so fitting.
Some examples that come to mind;
Goodnight Lovers (Falling Leaf Mix)
Dream On (Bushwacka Mix) - reminds me of the desert Highway from the music video
I Feel You (Babylon Mix; Life’s Too Short Mix; Swamp Mix)
Master And Servant (Slavery Whip Mix)
Stripped (Highland Mix)
Never Let Me Down Again (Glitter / Split / Aggro mixes)
Personal Jesus (Pump Mix)
World In My Eyes (Oil Tank Mix)
Walking In My Shoes (Grungy Gonads Mix / Ambient Whale Mix)
Rush (Spiritual Guidance Mix)
Home (Air “Around the Golf” Remix)
I mean, I don’t even know what half of them mean, but the titles always fit the sounds so well, particularly Mike Shinoda’s reinterpretation of Enioy The Silence as you mentioned. That one is just stunning.
@butters, are you still around? We miss you in this thread man!
It's weird that they included Get the Balance Right with the CTA set, but not Shake the Disease, It's Called a Heart, or Everything Counts '89. And now also Only When I Lose Myself. Maybe they'll throw all of those together in their own set afterwards... The band reportedly abhors It's Called a Heart though, so I can see that one being scrubbed from any sort of formal acknowledgment.

Speaking of more recent albums, I’d love to know why:
1) In Sympathy was played twice live then swapped for Policy Of Truth, never to appear again. It sounded majestic live.
2) Same for Fragile Tension. Only done once, I think? And that had a bloody music video.
3) Soft Touch/Raw nerve only 6 times. And dropping Master & Servant and Strangelove. Peace I kind of understand because the chorus didn’t come across as effective live as it did on the record.
The chorus of "It's No Good" is a tremendous ringtone.
edit: fuck that guy.

This thread made me go through the deepest depths of my hard drive and dig out Black Celebration to take along for tonight's run.. the skies turned dark grey and orange for a perfect thunderstorm and when But Not Tonight came on, it started pouring.......Thank you. This is what music was made for.
this vaughn George dude is such a blowhard. theres a thread on Reddit that shows him manipulating and baiting an underage girl into trying to meet up. hes disgusting.
*edit* found it.
