    Cayetana is breaking up!

Back in 2011 the three of us weirdos met at a party in South Philadelphia and decided to start a band. At first we were called The Crimps, then Cayetano and finally settled on Cayetana. We practiced on borrowed equipment in basements for years working our way from one musical goal to the next. Cayetana took us on a wild ride we could have never imagined.

We are so floored and grateful that in a world filled with such wonderful music you all took the time to listen to us. We want to sincerely thank all the people who have come out to shows and shared in this project with us. You all afforded us the ability to play music all over the damn place. We toured with our musical heroes, having a sense of pride we could have never imagined, and made so many wonderful friends along the way.
As we gear up to play these last few shows for the foreseeable future…we want to celebrate the beautiful experience we had together. We hope you will join us.

    Love, Augusta Allegra & Kelly
sadly listening to everything they did now.

I knew about them, but never heard them really, thanks!

All of those bands make me think of "The Residents"...

Recently been re-obsessing over Rob Dougan. He’s not a particularly big-name musician (most commonly known for writing “Furious Angels,” a song used in The Matrix film), especially because he’s been on a musical hiatus for over a decade, but in the past couple years he’s been steadily releasing new music, and last year announced a physical vinyl/book release of a few individually-released songs he’d compiled together, but I missed the order window. Today, he posted pictures of the finished product, and I was in love, so I asked whether there would be extra copies made available, and sure enough there will be! I’m not totally sure whether he manages his own page (it seems like he might?), but very excited to hear that I’ll get another chance at getting one now that I’m not recovering financially from a road trip and a car accident! I went ahead and joined his membership program too, for exclusive vinyl releases and things like that. Totally worth it.

Here’s “Furious Angels,” along with another more recent song of his. I believe some of his music is available for free in some format, too, so please check him out if you’re interested! There are free downloads on his page if you do a little digging. Very happy to see so many artists getting a second chance at stable income via the internet.

"These works utilize, among other things, exclusive source recordings from the interferometers of LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) capturing the sounds of the merging of two distant massive black holes, 1.3 billion years ago."

Been listening to Poppy's 3:36 ambient album (I love her music idgaf) and PIG's Risen album.

Took me a while to get into Risen but I fucking love it now.

    Song was always total fire.

I realized today, that EP may in fact be my favorite thing of his so far... What a seriously solid listen from top to bottom.

The final Cranberries album is out today and I really don't think I can fully emotionally process this right now.
