I love the hell out of this release. Ishraqiyun has to be my favorite out of the Secret Chiefs 3 "satellite bands".

Today I caught myself humming "Blue Skies" by BT feat. Tori Amos and I remembered that I never listened to Ima in full. Blasting it now. Sorry, Atom™. I promise I'll come back to you soon.

because it was brought up last week. I feel like I need to search some of these producers out to see if they can get this sound for entire albums.

Lately listening to psychedelic horror surf rock, old bizarre gogo jazzy novelty stuff, space lounge, and 90s instrumental hip hop downtempo. Feels like Halloween

Listening to the Atmos mix of Hybrid Theory and I would almost swear someone moved the drums. They don’t seem as large as I remember? There’s lots of stuff that moved in the mix but this is the one that seems most egregious.

I swear Atmos sounds so much quieter to me on all tracks. But the moving around is the purpose of Atmos, right? Spatial sound? Or am I missing something?

yeah, you're missing my internal thoughts when I wrote that. :P what I mean is that the drumss seem to be quieter, like the person who did the mix put them further down and brought up everything else. No boom.

but yeah mostly they are quieter. There are some mixes - the Ten release from Pearl Jam - that sound louder and yet like you're hearing all of the instruments much more clearly.

Also, and this might change with the new iOS, spatial isn't the same as moving around.
Is spatial audio with dynamic head tracking available for music?

We are excited to announce that spatial audio with dynamic head tracking is coming to Apple Music in the fall. Dynamic head tracking creates an even more immersive experience for spatial audio. It brings music to life by delivering sound that dynamically adjusts as you turn your head. And you can experience spatial audio with dynamic head tracking on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max with a compatible iPhone or iPad.

Would've been George's 90th birthday yesterday. 1 of the greatest country songs ever, IMHO.

sometimes you let the algorithm take you into some weird places.

the music's alright but the video...wow. didn't help that the thumbnail had me expecting something very different.

Thanks for sharing. Eskimo Callboy had a minor hit around here last summer with 'Hypa Hypa'. They are usually not taking themselves too serious. Here is that video:

yeah I was reading up on them, going to check out some stuff today and see if the vibe continues. That said, the part where the lyrics are questionable?
The band's musical style can be described as a mix of metalcore, comedy rock, and post-hardcore with electronic music. The band's style is influenced by techno, so it can be called electronicore. The musicians named bands like Asking Alexandria and Attack Attack! as their musical influences. Their singer stated that the musicians don't feel like being a part of the "hardcore music scene".[13]

The lyrics deal with themes like getting drunk, parties, and sex.[14] The band call their music "Porno Metal" (English Porn Metal).[13] Users of German music portal Allschools criticized the music of Eskimo Callboy as being misogynistic, homophobic, and misanthropic.[15] In an interview with the German FUZE magazine, vocalist Sebastian Biesler meant that the lyrics only use clichés in a satirical way.[16] In German Metal Hammer magazine, the reviewer gave the band a positive critique. He wrote, "this is why Eskimo Callboy is fun because they dismiss themselves and let ruling the fun".[17]
(that can't possibly be the actual quote, it has to have been Google Translated or something right?)

showed the video to my son and he spent the majority of it just saying "what?!" every time the scene changed because it just kept going. loved that.

Without knowing the original quote it's hard to tell but if you refer to "this is why Eskimo Callboy is fun because they dismiss themselves and let ruling the fun", it definitely sounds like an error in translation.

I don't know the band very well and I don't know the homophobic lyrics. It is still very common in German rap music to discriminate gay people, so maybe it's a parody on that or they did it themselves in an unreflected way. Besides that, based on the artists they collaborate with I assume they can't be total dickheads. And they surely use irony in their image

The soundtrack is too good for this crappy game. Thankfully, it's one of those "hybrid" PS1 discs that also functions as an audio CD, so just pop it in a CD player and forget the game inside it even exists.
