Funny you should mention "In the Meantime," I just added that to my i-pod a few weeks ago! I get why people would hate that song, but I dig it. I thought that the Spin Doctors and 4 Non Blonds were alright, never really had a problem with them--or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking.

^^^i disagree with a lot of what that guy says though, first of all I don't think 'guitar music' is some holy grail of 'legitimate' music. My situation is completely at odds too - grew up on classical music by my dad, my elder sister gets a radio cassette player of her own and we get into 80s pop music, human league / Duran Duran etc - Bros, Stock aitken & waterman etc RUIN pop music in late 80s we get into slayer, megadeth, iron maiden, led zeppelin, go into a whole rock / metal phase. Nowhere along the line did we have to get into pop punk as a 'way in'. Although, to be fair pop punk didn't exist back then
