Did anyone order their new live album?

I just did through their website. It was $40 bucks, but its well worth it. If it is as half as good as their last live album I would still be happy.
Also I like knowing that my money is going to the funding of the new album which I can't fucking wait for.
I would love to see them again. Great show, Michael was a great, humble guy to meet

I bought it as well. Definitely well worth it, I got the last one was well. I really like how they have this going. It's so interesting to hear how the songs evolve over tour and then how they translate to record. Definitely stoked to hear this and to hear the album next year.

Agreed, I liked that the versions of THE SEER songs played before the album came out sounded different than what made up the album.

It is a very interesting way to do things, lol.
In my opinion it's fucking badass as well.

    Absolutely bought it.

Got the version with the DVD and the next studio album for $65. Easily worth it.

Got the $65 bundle too. Can't wait! The special edition of We Rose from Your Bed... is one of my most prized pieces in my CD collection.

i really wish they were offering a bundle wherein you could secure a copy of the upcoming album on vinyl, since i try not to buy CDs anymore...but i'm probably going to end up getting the $65 package.

The "Kirstin Supine" demo is so great. Gira + acoustic guitar + thunder/rain = magic. Gira could put it on the album as-is (lo-fi recording and all) and it'd work.

The live stuff is as awesome as is to be expected. I especially like the (brutal) rendition of "Coward".

This live album could easily be the most "metal" thing released all year. It's just so HEAVY., in every sense. I love it. That last like 55 minutes of non-stop music is fucking astounding.

I read an interview with Michael near the beginning of the year asking him what his current influences are. I only remember him mentioning early Pink Floyd and Glenn Branca. I'll see if I can find it, but the vibe I'm getting off of this live album reminds me of 70's Miles Davis. Thick, heavy, black tar type music. The music that came out of the Bitches Brew and On The Corner sessions (not what made it onto those albums) is some of the most eye opening music I've ever heard.

Edit: Shit, I found the interview and the first album he mentions is On The Corner. http://thequietus.com/articles/10654...-albums?page=1

Man this new song is not what I was expecting at all. But I love it. It seems so…upbeat to me. It's so fucking fun. Dare I say, you can… dance to it? I mean, obviously we're talkin' some really ultra suburban white kid dance moves, but none the less.

This is of course coming from the same band whose last album featuring a grinning dog's face as the album cover, and that same dogs perky butthole as the back cover. These baby heads seem right on track, honestly.

The new track kind of reminds me of The Seer Returns. Same kind of rhythm.

I just got into the band last year after a friend sent me a compilation of (in his opinion) their best songs, but I love all the stuff I've heard thus far, and I can't wait to hear the new album.

Could you post that tracklisting? I'd be curious, if not for the novelty, considering Swans' sound has altered significantly over the years.

Here's the tracks he gave me. Most of it is pre-The Great Annihilator (since I hadn't heard anything in full that came out before that album). There's nothing from the newer albums since I had already heard those.

    1. Stay Here
    2. Weakling
    3. Mother, My Body Disgusts Me
    4. Cop
    5. Time Is Money (Bastard)
    6. Blackmail
    7. A Screw (Holy Money)
    8. A Hanging
    9. Beautiful Child
    10. Still A Child
    11. The Center Of Your Heart (technically not a Swans song)
    12. Blind
    13. Failure
    14. Love Will Tear Us Apart
    15. I Am The Sun
    16. Warm
    17. Killing For Company
    18. Volcano
    19. The Sound

Went to see Michael Gira this Friday. He was late for two hours - walked around the club sipping beer. The show was awesome, though - a very trance-like experience. I think I spent the whole hour just staring into one or two spots.

    Also, this:

So I guess we have heard all songs in one form or another already (except Some Things We Do).

Not surprising to see no KC date. When I saw them a couple of years ago, they played to maybe, shit, 30-40 people tops in a bar set to hold a couple hundred.

Don't feel bad, It seems like the band has been enjoying doing 2-3 weeks of touring at a time since last year according to Michael. That it keeps things fresh and from dragging on and on. So places like KC and where I am in San Francisco will probably gets shows later in the tour cycle in the fall or winter.

The new album has leaked, 96 kbps CBR though.
Swans don't deserve such low quality leaks.

If it were 190 kbps, I'd consider. 96 is way too low. I'll wait. It'll be worth it.

It's not even a real 'leak', as it turns out - the low-quality tracks are on the Young God Records website.

I'd download it, but I'm afraid Michael may show up to my house, skin me alive and make a suit from my flesh.
