Welp, TR&AR have officially written a song about the based god himself, Shrek. Even if it's about murdering him.

    Blessed timeline.

I couldn't help myself, to me Spoiler: Empire of Light is more NIN, this is more HTDA playing with rhythms kind of stuff. Some tracks remind me of the Watchmen soundtrack, some Soul. Sounds like live drums on some tracks, wonder who that is? Couple of wow they've never released anything like that before tracks. Great first listen.

Grand Theft Ice Cream Truck is the coolest piece of Turtles music since Crimewave and that Airwolf-inspired groove in Splinter's Tale 1.

I'm three tracks in, and this might be my favorite score of theirs in a long time.

    Wow.

This was the most fun I've had with listening to a Trent and Atticus score in quite awhile. It's got an intense Watchman score feeling to it, while being even more electronic, meaner and dark. Way more Nine Inch Nails-esque than I'm used to with his score work lately, while also combining elements of like Tobacco's solo work and moments that make you feel like you're playing the TMNT arcade game? It's really, really good.

Oh, and that last track was unexpected and actually brought some tears out of me. It's been awhile since I've heard something so uplifting feel just as sad at the same time.

    This was great.

24-bit is available for purchase here:

    https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/te.../yl4y1u0onrswc

Given that this is a Null Corp release, and not a major label, there's a good chance that this will show up on their Bandcamp shortly, where it might be a few dollars cheaper.

Yes, lots to like here. Agree with the Ghosts comment from someone earlier (as I listen to More Than Life Itself), but loads of other similarities with other score work and NIN material. We have a winner!

They should drop it next friday for the return of Bandcamp fridays(BC takes no cut from the artist). One can dream.

Listened to it in my way to work. Purposely took a longer route.

The transition from Murder the Shreks to Maybe One Day is sublime af. Fucking TR/AR making me cry at 9am in rush hour traffic.

Such a unique soundtrack, some tracks are dying to get extended cuts. Maybe a Deluxe Edition like Bird Box?

Amazing stuff. Definitely some of the best piano (and sax) work by the men.

If I have anything negative to say about my first listen, it's that this thing is so chaotic! It totally changes tone from one minute to the next. I assume that will wear off once I've heard it a few times, but holy shit do I love everything I'm hearing!

Would have never thought that this score would become a candidate for one of my favorites of theirs, but it's definitely moving up there. There's something for everyone here, and I love it.

    EDIT: Those wobbly synths. Mmmfff...

A couple of thing comes to mind:
    - well, it's definitely a soundtrack
    - but I've manage to listen to it completely, so automatically, it's a good soundtrack!
    - and I am tempted to listen to it again, so it is a great soundtrack

so very true, there are a couple of moments like that and it's so fun. I bet the chiptunes people will have a fun time with this one.

there's a track or two that recall Soul to me as well.

edit: Happy Ending / Sewer Home has a weird Macklemore "Same Love" vibe to it, the piano bit specifically. Probably just a progression thing but it was tickling the back of my brain so I had to share.

Does anyone remember if the Bandcamp stuff is just 16/44.1 or is there any hi-res option (I mean previous releases since this one isn't up yet)? I know typically there isn't hi-res but I'm not sure if that has changed. If I'm gonna pay, I'd rather buy hi-res.
