    He’s certainly taking the piss.

Super bummed but also relieved that Fridays show in NYC got postponed. This is the first time since I've been a fan that I've actually been looking forward to hearing new songs live. No rescheduled dates announced yet.

I don’t see myself listening to “The Secret of Music” more than once, unless it pops up on shuffle.

I really dig that one. It's a very different style for him, and it works for me.

Give this one a shot @bobbie solo

Oh god, no! Please listen to this instead, it’s the closer from the new album: very sentimental.

    also @imail724

Never Played Symphonies was ok. Got a little repetitive/meandering.

Playboys - This seems like a very mainstream, probably very popular song/single. Very 90's. I really liked it.

Secret of Music - yes, very different. It wasn't bad at all, but felt like background music.

Hurling Days - Eh. Was ok. I can see why a major fan would like something like this though.

This is one of his most ambitious songs, lyrically:

    When the gulf between
    All the things I need
    And the things I receive
    Is an ancient ocean
    Wide, wild, lost, uncrossed
    Still I maintain there's nothing
    Wrong with you
You do all that you do
Because it's all you can do
    Well, I was fifteen
    Where could I go?
With a soul full of loathing
    For stinging bureaucracy
    Making it anything
    Other than easy
    For working girls like me
With my hands on my head
    I flop on your bed
With a head full of dread
    For all I've ever said
    Maladjusted, maladjusted
    Maladjusted maladjusted

Would recommend just checking out some albums at this point. Like I said, anything by The Smiths is a solid starting point, and as for solo, give Bona Drag a try.

I was going to say “but no one died from it to capitalise on like Ennio Morricone,” but then I remembered Jerry Finn passed away.

Seriously though, look at the editing on those images. His hair on the Southpaw one, the positioning of him on the Quarry one, and the pixelation everywhere. Plus, this will be the third cover Southpaw Grammar has now!

Reading the comments on that Morrissey forum is gold. Its like a bunch of rabid dogs tearing into a steak. Those people decimate every aspect of ol Moz. People who think the NIN fanbase is too picky should walk on by the ol Moz forum. Holy shit those people are harsh lol

Harsh doesn't begin to describe it. Check out some of the posts in the recent threads about his mum passing away. Fuck me.

Atrocious artwork, and I'm sure he's going to butcher the tracklists too, but I'm looking forward to finally owning these albums on vinyl. And yes, Morrissey-solo is an unmoderated cesspool.

Aaaaaaaand he's been dropped by his label again. LOL

    https://www.morrissey-solo.com/threa...6-2020.147265/

    Excerpt:

BMG Records have dropped Morrissey. Following the March 2020 release of I AM NOT A DOG ON A CHAIN
    (#1 Scotland, #1 Poland, #3 Britain, #3 France, #10 Spain, #13 Germany, #2, #9, #17, #18 U.S.A. - depending
on which official chart you follow), BMG have appointed a new Executive who does not want another Morrissey
album. Instead, the new BMG Executive has announced new plans for 'diversity' within BMG's artist roster, and
all projected BMG Morrissey releases/reissues have been scrapped.

"This news is perfectly in keeping with the relentless galvanic horror of 2020," said Morrissey, "we would be critically insane to expect anything positive."

Morrissey is once again in search of a new label willing to release his music.

"My three albums with BMG have been the best of my career, and I stand by them till death. Recording them has been a pivotal period in my life, and I thank the previous BMG team and everyone involved for that. It's still important to me to do music my own way, and I wouldn't want to be on a label that dictates so specifically how their artists should behave - especially when the word 'talent' is notably never mentioned."

Morrissey's duet with David Bowie is now available on Parlophone via Warner.

"There are too many cases of successful artists languishing at labels who are no longer interested in them." Alistair Norbury, BMG.

Morrissey's Las Vegas residency remains in place for 2021.

above quotes collected by V.Pearson for M.Central.
full interview will be printed shortly.

So BMG won't be signing Burzum anytime soon, I guess?
