Welp, JUST because Trent is doing the theme, I HAVE To get the hardened edition.

I got your "hardened edition" right here.
Stupid, guitar-y music here:

I hope it's not the theme.
Do video game soundtracks have For Your Consideration samplers?
Maybe, if they submit stuff to the G.A.N.G. (Game Audio Network Guild).
I hope Trent goes the extremely lazy route and merely rehashes "The Hand That Feeds." Specifically, I hope he keeps all the music (and lyrics) from the original song and only changes the line, "Will you bite the hand that feeds you?" to: "Will you heed the call of duty/Will you stay down on your knees?" Now THAT would make all the hype worth the purchase of the Hardened Edition!
You can pre-order the album/song here. It has samples with an "Orchestral Mix", too. The release date is November 13th. I'm liking the song length...

5:38, very good, very good. I'd forgotten about this thing for a few months, but now I'm excited again.
The sampler has really kind of put me off. Theres just something about it that I really dont like. I suppose I've never been much of a fan of wartimey type music. Still theres an extra 5 minutes I haven't heard yet so I shant pass any judgement yet
I wonder who chose release date first, COD or HTDA? I doubt either will get as much attention as they'd want due to the other's release on the same day.
As for the sample .. it's kinda what I expected, but hey, 5 minutes more to surprise me
The album's going to be available on iTunes on the 13th as well, for those of you who prefer iTunes over Amazon/pirating.
For those hoping for an actual disc with the Hardened Edition of the game I'm sorry to report that it's a digital download :/
lame, forget buying the hardened, ill just buy the download code from someone who doesent want theirs
i found something

^ Kudos. Dont imagine it will stay up for long but that theme is fucking boss. Could be my favorite thing since Tetsuo. So good.
Oddly, it couldn't get more Fragiley Nailsy (to the extent we'll see many complaints about it being "too trademark")

7-minute version is also up on youtube.

It doesn't really GO anywhere, just feels like lots of elements on a page, with no real cohesion.
See - every other video game theme since video games began. The Quake theme didn't really go anywhere, minute or so of industrial metal followed by a few minutes of ambience with no real point!
Wow, that really did sound like it came straight out of 1999.
It's a good song, nothing to write home about, really. I like it, more or less.
Oh, how come this sounds like a complete song when apparently 28 seconds are missing (if Amazon's times are correct)?

perhaps the OST mix is 5:38 while 5:10 is the length of a game rip which is on youtube
