Yeah it's about the cop but this isn't related to his killing of George Floyd.

County Attorney Pete Orput said the investigation of the two “was in the works well before” Derek Chauvin was charged with Floyd’s death in late May.Orput said state Department of Revenue officials contacted his office in June with what they found, and “they were sending [Chauvin] letters last year” about no returns being filed, “and they got no response.”
Then, when Derek Chauvin came under worldwide attention for his role in Floyd’s killing, revenue officials “read the guy’s name and realize this is their guy,” Orput said.
The county attorney called the Chauvins’ tax troubles “run of the mill, but it just happens to be the [police officer] sitting in Oak Park [Heights prison]. … The guy owes us money, and I want to collect. I don’t care about his other problems.”

    From here:

There are a few different variations of the scam, but one version is that sellers create fake customer accounts, buy their own products—usually very cheap or worthless versions of products—and send them to people’s homes in other countries. The online customer accounts might be fake, but the addresses are real, and the sellers can then use those accounts to register real deliveries, post glowing reviews of the products, and improve their rankings on e-commerce sites like Amazon or eBay. Many press reports by local outlets like CBS News, Newsday, and others have described the practice in recent years.

    as an update.
The agency’s preliminary analysis has shown the seed packets included a mix of ornamental, fruit, vegetable, herb and weed species – as in weeds, not, apparently, “weed”. It also said the agency did not link the seeds to “agro-terrorism”.

So they “report real deliveries” to addresses that aren’t theirs?

See, this is why SO MUCH of Amazon is a cesspool, now. I’d say the MAJORITY of Amazon reviews are bullshit. Many of the products are coming from other countries and it’s really hard to report a non-delivery scam to Amazon. Scams are EVERYWHERE on Amazon. Amazon doesn’t even have a PHONE NUMBER.

I had to BAN my Mom from using Amazon because it’s only for seasoned veterans who can spot scams. And it takes real diligence. Even many of Amazon Basic products are total shit.

There are sites where you can check whether Amazon reviews are bullshit, that’s how bad it’s gotten.

If this happened to me, I’d be inclined to go give that company a total shit review with about 10 fake accounts.

Amazon needs to immediately cut companies like that off. Immediately.

eBay is fucking TERRIBLE, too. Look at this obviously real account with 13,000+ reviews in 7 years, selling anything and everything. FWIW, I found this looking for Robotech Legacy Collection 7:

it's amazing how fast people can produce evidence against bureaucracies and how they hinder progress after the fact. Maybe we should get rid of them?

No, it's obvious that what is needed is more red tape and pinch points for more officials to bribe.

I think they're crowdsourced updates, similar to Wikipedia. If you are looking for sat images this article is interesting:

Putting this here in case anyone is interested...I'm rooting for something NRA related.

Watch live: New York AG Letitia James makes 'major national announcement'

edit: not only did CBSNews spit the bit on their live feed this is one big wet fart lawsuit.

Op-Ed: U.S. leaders knew we didn’t have to drop atomic bombs on Japan to win the war. We did it anyway.

I wonder if we would have used the bomb in Vietnam instead of Japan in that timeline?

    Pretty strong clapback from NYAG:

Feeling a little more positive about this but still a bit skeptical. I read through a thread of the alleged fraud and...well...I wouldn't want to be Mr. LaPierre right about now.

I recently participated in this story, after having worked 4 years under this shitty fucking company. I'm unbelievably relieved to have this article out here and to personally help bring down this terrible fucking company.

    FUCK ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE.

Years of sexual abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, among many other things all taking place in the Kansas City Drafthouse location, FINALLY coming to light. Working for that company literally destroyed my mental state and I had to take therapy and get on meds (that I am still on) after working there. I wouldn't say it destroyed my life, but it got goddamn close, and many of the people I worked with there, their lives WERE ruined. I have no idea if these theaters will reopen when the Pandemic is over, but if it does, please think about this article before giving that company another cent. But please please please share it on your socials, with friends and family, anyone who has ever been a fan of Alamo Drafthouse.
