This trailer played before Nope, and I audibly recoiled in the theater during the bit at the end, delighting my girlfriend and several other patrons
Anything with these 2 leads is probably going to be decent.
Just so sad with all of these artists getting burned by the WB merger.
First footage of The Last of Us TV show.

I am very curious about this. I remember studying this novel as a young man in University.
NBC is in preliminary discussions to cut back on its primetime programming hours between 10 to 11 p.m. in a cost-cutting measure that reflects the changing TV landscape. The plan, if it moves forward, would be implemented as soon as fall 2023.
While the matter, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, hasn’t officially been brought up with the company’s affiliate board, it would affect scripted programming airing during the slot, meaning that NBC would have to decide which shows to cut. The plan would relinquish the hour back to local TV stations.
Hopefully it means getting rid of Falon because I think he's awful, but I also don't see him going anywhere.
Love how this is a big off the wall parody of bio pics.
I've read the book and I really liked it - even read it to my son way back when he still liked that - but wow it is dense. The pic, directed by Laika’s Travis Knight, was originally announced in September, with the main cast revealed Thursday. It is being adapted from the series of novels by Colin Meloy, lead singer of The Decemberists, and illustrator Carson Ellis. Chris Butler, who wrote and directed the Laika pics ParaNorman and Missing Link, penned the script.
It marks the first film from Laika since 2019’s Missing Link. All five of the studio’s previous films have gotten Oscar Animated Feature nominations.
No release date has been set for this one, and roles for the voice cast remain under wraps.
The logline from the studio: Beyond Portland, Oregon’s city limits lies Wildwood. You’re not supposed to go there. You’re not even supposed to know it exists. But Prue McKeel is about to enter this enchanted wonderland. Her baby brother Mac has been taken by a murder of crows into the forest’s depths, and she – along with her hapless classmate Curtis – is going to get him back. Prue might think she’s too old for fairytales, but she’s just found herself at the center of one. One filled with strange talking animals, roguish bandits, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions. Wildwood is a tale of love, loss, sacrifice and secrets, and of the magic you can find on your doorstep, if you’re willing to look for it.
I have a feeling that the mail truck driver - Richard - is going to be Tom Waits. I was going to say him or Jermaine Clement but I'm pretty sure he's going to be the king of the bandits.
I was just reading comments the other day with people saying they’d love a spin-off film of Waltz’s bounty hunting tales from Django Unchained, then I see this. Waltz again as a bounty hunter.
So Christian Slater will appear in the Willow Series, as a "friend" of Madmartigan.
Madmartigan is said to have an important role in the show, but Val has throat cancer, and, well, fuck.
I hope they got a SOME footage of him speaking, or worked around it like they did in Top Gun

This book...I've read it like five times. This is my review from 2017, the first time.one review I just saw at the top of Goodreads:It's a very entertaining story of Mr. Fikry, who we meet some time after his wife passes. He is about to receive a visit from Chekov's gun - er, a bookseller who only recently inherited Mr. Fikry's account from the previous bookseller who has also recently passed. Thus begins the storied life of Mr. Fikry. The story itself is interjected with mini reviews of other books (there's a list on Goodreads) and the novel itself is also interspersed with comments on books and other ephemera from the real world that makes the whole thing feel very real.
I listened to the book while riding to and from work and I just so happened to be at the end of the book when I arrived this morning. Unlike yesterday, it was not raining.
Yeah, kinda, but also I read it when I guess I needed some of that. The movie looks pretty accurate to me, or at least the trailer does. For me, though, it tips way too far into chick lit and YA territory, and succumbs too often (and too early) to schmaltz and melodrama.
and just because of the extreme swing from that to this, a new post.
that looks so good, I wish I knew people who would want to see it with me.
Why yes, I DO want to see an action movie where Santa is the action hero!
I mean...I'll watch it.
