Frustration. Trying to go see Paul McCartney at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Couldn't get them Wednesday with the presale code (which came in email AND was on the website for the world...really?). Immediately after Stubhub is flooded with them. Monday general tix go on sale and I am guessing I won't get any either. I called Ticketmaster hoping to go to a physical location to buy them (like back in the day when they had Ticketmaster outlets) and was told that was not a thing and the only place to buy them is online (I don't live in Green Bay or I would have checked with that venue directly). That story from Septemberish about the investigation by some people that showed evidence of Ticketmaster colluding with resellers really has me angry. I emailed one of my Senators at the time but had not heard back so today I called them about it, called my other Senator, and called my state's AG's office. Looks like the FTC is the place to make a complaint. /sigh

I've already seen PM many times over the years starting around 1990. But my daughter has grown to like to the Beatles quite a bit and I really wanted to take her to a PM show before it's too late. Looks like I will be stuck with Stubhub, etc.

Don't give up yet. Those shows have tens of thousands of seats; if you're on your computer at the stroke of whatever hour they go on sale, you've got a decent shot.

Also, check to see if any of your friends have an Amex or something; sometimes those presale tickets last longer than the ones where the presale codes are pasted all over the internet.

Worst case, I wouldn't buy scalped tickets so close to the on-sale date; it's when people who are freshly pissed about it are willing to spend whatever it takes because they're afraid the tickets will only go up. In an arena show, that's a different story. But in a stadium, you've got good odds.

Thanks. I did manage to get tix today. Row 27 in the far left floor section (but the section is the first section). I was quite shocked actually as I did not get in to the buy screen until about 30 minutes after they went on sale. I am suspecting many people went for a lower price tier. So, now my daughter gets to see PM once!

Congrats! Toured with him a few times in more recent decades. Never saw him put on a bad show, and far and away one of the nicest guys I've ever worked with. Humble, friendly, and genuine. Enjoy the show!

Wow, if you thought "Fuh You" was odd... another collaboration between Paul and the same producer (Ryan Tedder) has just been released this week on streaming services.

The phrase 'act your age' comes to mind.

It takes a couple of listens to 'hear past' the aggressive Autotune parts, but the song is actually quite hooky and cool. It just feels ridiculous to juxtapose Macca with his thumbs-aloft grampa image and this style of production (I think I said as much when he did those tracks with Kanye). It's certainly weird, but I don't know if I absolutely hate it or if it's a bold choice for this particular song.

We are proud to announce an exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and the acclaimed Academy Award winning director Sir Peter Jackson


The new film will be based around 55 hours of never-released footage of The Beatles in the studio, shot between January 2nd and January 31st, 1969. These studio sessions produced The Beatles’ Grammy Award winning album Let It Be, with its Academy Award winning title song. The album was eventually released 18 months later in May 1970, several months after the band had broken up.


The filming was originally intended for a planned TV special, but organically turned into something completely different, climaxing with The Beatles’ legendary performance on the roof of Apple's Savile Row London office — which took place exactly 50 years ago today.


Peter Jackson said, "The 55 hours of never-before-seen footage and 140 hours of audio made available to us, ensures this movie will be the ultimate ‘fly on the wall’ experience that Beatles fans have long dreamt about."

So, I was cleaning through some old boxes and I found 30 cassette tapes from 1988-1989 of the radio show the Lost Lennon Tapes, which was a weekly show that aired on the radio on Sunday nights. A quick search didn't show any site that had a copy of these, though there were a few that had some of them (as in 12 episodes or less perhaps--it ran at least a year so there are many episodes). I don't really want to toss these but I don't want to just leave them in a box until the end of my time. I was hoping to find someone that archives and hosts data that might know more (such as maybe these are available somewhere else after all) and who might want them (I didn't even test if the tapes still worked--I don't have a cassette player right now). I don't want to take the time to digitalize them, etc. as I just don't want to spend that sort of time on this. I was making a reddit post but I am somewhat hesitant to do that. Any suggestions?

P.S. So I was an obsessive fan even before NIN I guess (I was in high school then and the Beatles were my fav band despite it being before my time).

I believe these have been recorded and bootlegged to CD elsewhere... but until they receive a fully sanctioned release with remastered sound, don't throw them out! That's a goldmine you're sitting on, I'd bet there is a diehard collector out there who would want them.

The music was released (unofficially) on LP over 35 volumes and on CD over 22 volumes. There was also some material available on the Anthology series. The interviews and commentary are the "holy grail".

I usually don't bother with cover bands, but I had a friend bring me to a performance by Rain at our pavilion last week, and I was actually pretty impressed. It's been a long long time since I've been to a show that dint blow my ear drums out, and where I was by far one of the youngest people in the crowds. 75% of the people there were probably old enough to remember when this music originally came out.

Anyways, they used an acoustic guitar during Hard Days Night that just made the song sound thick as hell. They only played two songs off my favorite album, Revolver. Elenor Rigby (of course) and surprisingly Good Day Sunshine, in which "John" played the piano for, which was sweet, I love that song. (I was expecting Yellow Submarine during the Sgt Pepper portion of the show, but no such luck)

Unless you want to go see McCartney play Beatles songs (I don't), this was pretty close to the real thing. I would highly recommend checking them out if you get the chance.

While I absolutely adore Sgt. Pepper's and the White Album, I've been really waiting for the Abbey Road big gigantic set for the 50th anniversary because it's my favorite Beatles album.

I prefer Abbey Road by perhaps a wider margin to those two (but I did fall in love with the White Album when I got the box for that), so yeah this is the one I've been waiting for.

Gonna wait until close to Christmas to get it when the price drops. I predict that because the deluxe is just 4 discs, and being in a smaller package it won't remain as expensive as the others have and it'll be more like the Imagine set which I've seen go as low as 50. Hell, Amazon.ca had a pre-order that was just barely 30 dollars American before the site crashed.
