    Did you guys catch this?

It's 30 or so big name youtubers, from the true crime/investigative genres, taking a stand against YouTube's increasingly stringent and vague guidelines- the guidlines that force them to walk on eggshells; meanwhile, fake "animal rescue" channels (animals are abused and then "rescued," all by the creators,) and other terrible exploitative content continues to thrive.
And it's pretty hardcore. There are some serious fighting words going on, here. Furthermore, others are picking up the cause, too. In fact, this video would be GONE if so many big names weren't involved.

I'm afraid it's a fool's errand, though: no matter how many big name creators get in on this, sadly, it's still a David and Goliath situation.

Edit: if you guys think this would work better in a different thread, let me know. I think it's interesting because this has never happened before. It's like they're trying to unionize.

    This is fucking priceless.

Also, I'd HIGHLY recommended watching EVERY video on Channel 5, along with everything on the All Gas No Breaks channel.

This dude, Andrew Callaghan, is kind of a more subtle Sacha Baron Cohen. He goes to like, NASCAR, a Proud Boys Rally, Donald Trump Jr Book Club, et al, and just interviews people, mostly kind of deadpan.

    It's fucking hilarious.

The QShaman thing is funny, but it's also fascinating and a bit sad.

@fillow , so you're aware of All Gas No Brakes?

Is anyone else? I'm telling you guys...I'm trying to inspire some serious FOMO here, because this is some of the best stuff online, period.

Some of this, definitely, belongs in Random Stupidity, but, while I'm on the subject:

Today is the 85th anniversary of the Hindenburg disaster. The above footage was not shot by newscrew; it was shot by an amateur who wanted to memorialize the landing for someone who could not be there. This footage was known to exist but was publicly shown only in 2014. It was digitized for a 2021 episode of the PBS show Nova.

It doesn't show exactly where the fire started but it does show a few seconds more of it than the official newsreels and, more importantly, it shows the Hindenburg in its entirety as it's crashing.

It's a miracle that 62 people survived this given how fast it happened. And, like the Titanic sinking, it happened because of a series of human errors.

    Oh the humanity indeed.

On a similar note I got my 6 year old buddy a Julio Rodriguez rookie baseball card for Xmas. It's in a sleeve & I'm sure his dad will be involved in protecting it. Maybe in 20-30 years it will be worth something & he'll think back fondly on old uncle Chuck. I'm sure I'll be long gone by then.
