New Predator movie 'Prey' drops August 5. Looks fuckin' good!
Well, at least it looks better than the previous 57 sequels.
Let me guess, it's gonna be basically the same plot as P1 and P2 all over again? (Not that I against it)
Men reviewed by Jeff VanderMeer.
It's in the first paragraph but this is why it's interesting: Jeff wrote Annihilation, the book that Alex Garland's previous film was based on. Jeff has made no secret that he actively dislikes the film, and that Alex's "I read the book and then wrote the script based on what I remembered from the book" version didn't sit well with him so to have him review the movie has a meta 'this little shit' energy.
Regarding Prey: you had me the second I recognized Amber Midthunder. I adore her. I almost feel pity for the Predator; it's going to get its butt kicked so hard.
Regarding Men: no way in hell is VanderMeer objective and I can understand why. But I have read Annihilation (the whole trilogy, in fact) and it's not an easy read. Fascinating and extremely creepy but also confusing and very much open to interpretations so I cannot fault Garland's adaptation, which I thought captured well the spirit of the book. And I just can't hate a movie with Tessa Thompson and Oscar Issac.
Word circulating online (boulder of salt time, his own reps are denying, yada yada) that Disney wants to patch things up with Johnny Depp and both sides are talking about him reprising Capt Jack Sparrow for another 'Pirates' movie to the cool tune of $301 million.
Woooooooooooooooof
yeeshGee I wonder why.Comments are turned off.
My mother heard the music playing and said "You watching The Munsters??" Oh Mom... I wish I was... I wish I was.
Going to go try and not vomit during this workout after seeing this.
The Munsters won't even be a "so bad it's good movie" . It's going to be "this is a big piece of shit and there's no other way to put it" .
They played this on the big screen on stage right when the lights went out and the show was about to start Saturday at Metlife Stadium for The Weeknd. I'm in!
‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ Getting Theatrical Re-Release With Eight Extra Minutes
if you missed this the first time through you really should check it out.
edit to clarify: the eight minutes are not scenes in the movie itself so you're not seeing a different cut, just an intro video from the Daniels and then some scenes that didn't make it.

This trailer played before Nope, and I audibly recoiled in the theater during the bit at the end, delighting my girlfriend and several other patrons
Anything with these 2 leads is probably going to be decent.
Just so sad with all of these artists getting burned by the WB merger.
First footage of The Last of Us TV show.
skip to 1:40
I am very curious about this. I remember studying this novel as a young man in University.
NBC is in preliminary discussions to cut back on its primetime programming hours between 10 to 11 p.m. in a cost-cutting measure that reflects the changing TV landscape. The plan, if it moves forward, would be implemented as soon as fall 2023.
While the matter, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, hasn’t officially been brought up with the company’s affiliate board, it would affect scripted programming airing during the slot, meaning that NBC would have to decide which shows to cut. The plan would relinquish the hour back to local TV stations.
