Well, FWWM confirmed for Criterion
So the Entire Mystery box set goes out of print, and now FWWM is being released through Criterion... I wonder if maybe it went out of print because of this?

Did anybody take notice of Del Rio's dress?
"You fuck us twice," - I don't LOL often sitting just by myself, but this one I enjoyed, how serious they looked... :-D
Also, final 7 minute long song was the first time this season I skipped a bit, it was too annoying for some reason.
that episode made me so god damn uncomfortable. my wife and i spent the majority of it trying not to cry of throw up. people thought about jumping ship because of part 8 being "weird" but part 10 was just so upsetting. there was such an over-saturation of horrific violence, and i really don't do well with choking, especially (my abusive ex once asked me to choke her during sex; i refused, so she choked me). i really hope that, if there's more of that kind of violence (fingers crossed it gets toned down a bit), it's spread out a bit more.
also, yeah, why on earth was she auto-tuned? and i love moby so it was really cool to see him playing guitar on stage.
Wow, what an incredible episode -- beautiful, horrifying, surreal, understandable, balanced out and paced extraordinarily well. Everything about that was great and moved a lot of plot lines forward while maintaining the emotional intrigue.
Christ, that was a great episode. It had everything.
Two things I missed were that Donna's piano-playing little sister was the girl hiding with Steven, and this : https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/c...hen_he_caught/
Yeah it was fucking stunning.
I fucking love Cole's deadpan.
"Well I guess we found out."
" WE SURE DID, ALBERT, "
And then:
"HE's Dead"
That's part of the fun for this series (and as someone who wasn't alive when it originally aired, it's been amazing getting to see the experience people had originally) -- each episode being given room to sit and breathe, to take up space in your head, to make you think and question and theorize and explore the feelings it leaves you with, to have a sense of presence and weight rather than being like pieces of popcorn all grabbed up together and swallowed down thoughtlessly is wonderful.
I don't think Episode 8 would have lingered in all our minds if we had leaped right into the episode that followed it. I don't think Dougie at the statue would have been so emotional and depressing if we'd gone right to him going home afterward. I've been rewatching the episodes that have aired so far and have found that it is far less lasting in its impact when you just watch several in a row. It's a lot like Mad Men or The Sopranos in that way.
@elevenism it's been delightful having so many new things to use for my David Lynch impression
Oh, no doubt about it. Last night's ending with Dale being so close to resembling his old self but not making it left me impatient. There were quite a few things that left me wanting immediate resolution. It's the next day, though, and now I'm enjoying letting it sit for a while and poring over the images and responses I'm having. The scene with Bobby in the street, and all the loudness, selfishness, and chaos has been marinating all night. I really feel he got the "Something is wrong with this whole town and I don't know where to start" feeling while watching him. And that leads to my own experiences in life, where I want to fix everything around me because I did screw up so much when I was younger, and I feel this weight of responsibility now, but I can't seem to make sense of it.
And, yeah, I was really glad to have 2 weeks to stew after episode 8.
*I wasn't allowed to watch the show when it aired on TV. I was 16 and 17, and had a rough childhood, so my mom was really strongly against me being in the same room at all. I did binge watch it later. (She was right.) But I do remember that feeling with The X Files.
And when it ends, I know I'm going to miss the waiting between episodes.
Man, Jim Belushi and Robert Knepper have so much chemistry, it oozes out of the screen. I can watch these two just sit and eat cereal and attempt to get Candy's attention for an entire episode. I never watched a show that made me feel disgusted, confused, happy, sad, and shocked all in under an hour. Diane is being a shady skate, Hastings is now a cherry pie, and Coop seems like he is going to snap out of it at any time.
@kleiner352 i want to hear your David Lynch impression!
as for me, i've been saying things backward and recording them forward; i sent one to @thelastdisciple yesterday. it's great fun.
Boy, I don't know about the rest of you, but I was fuckin' lol'ing big time when that sick kid was coming up out of the passenger seat and the horn-honking lady was screaming her ass off outside the RR
Seriously, wtf was that..
I was thinking that sick kid was just faking it to piss off the lady.
Remember her?
Also: damn good pie.
Interesting note on one of the photos in The Secret History
"If one holds this picture in front of a mirror, the only numbers which are not changed are I, 8 and II, and by taking the first word of each book title we have "fear the double". If we were using the number one written with a "1", then only 8 would be the same as its reflection, the book number 8 is associated with Cooper."
I'm just getting around to reading that. (It isn't as easy on the Kindle Paperwhite as it would be on a computer. I might need to see if I can get it on a bigger screen. Reading the letters about Lewis has been difficult. I didn't realize when I bought it that is was more like a dossier than a book.
Is Harry Dean Stanton's character the secret leader of the Bookhouse Boys?

Definitely the worst episode so far of the new series.
This episode had to have been called Let's Rock as some kind of cruel joke.
Anyway, not totally awful. Fuck is going on in Sarah's house
so many new names to remember
