I have absolutely loved the last two episodes, but yeah the way this was packaged is puzzling if this is the direction they knew they were gonna go with the episodes. Even the clunky "The Mandolorian: Book of Boba Fett" would have made more sense than just naming it Book of Boba Fett. I wonder if they realized halfway through or something that the dude playing Boba is pretty limited, as was the writing for what they could even do with the character (considering the whole coolness of Boba Fett is the look and the mystery)...so they went in this direction. It's saving the seaon for me, but man it's awkward.

They really should have switched things around and let this be The Mandalorian Season 3 where Din seeks help from Boba and not the other way around, if they have zero story to tell. I really do not care about the Pike syndicate nor do I find anything menacing in this season. Even the Hutt twins only had one threatening entrance only for them to leave the show completely in the next episode.

Let Boba be a deus ex machina character like he was in that one Mandalorian episode where he rescued everybody with the Slave I or when he provided support in episode 7 of season 2. This way you could keep up the mystery, let him keep his armor on and no one would even know that Temuera Morrison isn't the most versatile actor. I like the man, but his shoulders aren't big enough to carry these big fanboy dreams and the promise that the announcement of TBOBF made. And don't even get me started on Robert Rodriguez who made it seem that this will be some kind of wet dream for every Boba fan. I loved the flashbacks with the Tusken, I enjoyed the small scene where he left the Sarlacc and I absolutely adored when he ravaged those bikers at the station and later on with his gunship. But other than that... there was not much Boba Fett to be seen.

Spoiler: Cad Bane was pretty bad ass though... so here's hope we will at least get a really nice stand-off in next week's episode.

It was a sneaky Boba Fett cameo!

Interesting perspective on The Book of Boba Fett, make sure to go through the whole thread.

Some food for thought. (spoilers within)

Also a book can be from multiple perspectives from chapter to chapter but can also be about one person. So it's still 'on-brand' or whatever.

I wonder if maybe he'll show up at the end of Boba Fett as a teaser to his series coming out hopefully soon.

Obi Wan is dead by the time Mandalorian or Boba happens, but I am pretty sure they will end wednesday's episode with some kind of reference to what is coming next. The Andor series is coming this year as well.

I wonder if they will throw in Moff Gideon as well in episode 7. Everything is possible now by the looks of the last two episodes.

Cool poster but a few of those characters are known to be either deceased or off-world so I guess it's just a "look at who's in the show" more than a "look who will be in the last episode".

and look, I get the whole "it's poetry, it rhymes" with it coming out on this anniversary:

But D+ shows premiere on Wednesdays and May the 4th is a Wednesday. Easy layup!

    Well, that sucked
Some of that script felt lifted right out of the prequels, jesus.
I was so rooting for this show and it ended on a waste of a character return and a whole bunch of deus ex predictable machina.

The only scene that felt like it should have been the tone of the whole show was Spoiler: Fennec’s wiping out of the leaders - that’s the badassery I wanted the whole time.

Also couldn’t it also have been way better if it was on HBO and had the tone of The Wire? That would feel way better than this crap.

Fucking terrible. Fennec Spoiler: hanging the mayor was fantastically brutal. The rest was such a letdown. Mods sucked. Battles were low energy (sad!). Spoiler: The rancor was too much. Spoiler: King Kong reference???? fuck off. How incredibly disappointing.

Loved seeing Fett and his armor in action finally and Cad Bane was a really nice adversary (underused though), but overall this felt like a b-movie spaghetti western (which it probably should by the writers, producers and directors). Like I stated before, the show has been a complete mess with a few iconic scenes in it and only three episodes that I liked (the second, the fourth and the last one). I know there are a dozen takes on Boba Fett and hundreds of possibilities on what story to tell and keep fans happy, but this felt like the least appealing to me and like a major letdown. Overflowing with cameos and story-tidbits for future shows and Mandalorian seasons and ultimately too funny and bright for characters like Boba Fett and Fennec Shand... too few badass moments, no gravitas, the show ends where it started basically.

Oh well, onto the next show at the end of May! This time I will lower my expectations.

I thought was fine, and just fine. Not great but decent.

I think the awesomeness that is Peacemaker airing at the same time, took some of the wind out of the sails on this show for me. It just took things too safe and while I like the Mando/Baby Yoda stuff, I wish they would have left it out and focused on Fett. You could still have him show up in the last episode of Book have a flashback in S3 of Mando to explain what he has been up to.

as for the episode, it was fine.

I don't know why they did the "they killed him in cold blood!" line when he's clearly in a bacta tank at the end.

when the Wookie was limping he was clearing walking because his foot was at a 90 degree angle? and then the one shot where the two mods were helping the Wookie and the English dude did this weird spin move to blast and they shot it in slow mo? wtf?

there were a lot of strange choices and the only thing I found consistent about them was that it was Robert Rodriguez, again, making them.

Why the fuck did Boba Fett think his armor was in the Sarlacc Pit?

When he got out of the pit he almost immediately blacked out and the Jawas came and took the armor while he was in this state. it was an indeterminate period of time before the Sand People came upon his body and started hauling him away.

So it's possible he was in so much stress that he thought that his armor was still there.

But tbh I think it was forgotten about by the writers, not the character.

I don't think this was forgotten, I just think it was a really bad concept / justification by the writers. A big part of the episode was him flying the firespray back to the Sarlacc with a bunch of expensive special effects. I think they needed a reason for him to go back to the pit for some cool visuals and when they asked the writers they intentionally decided on "oh, he goes to try and get his armor back, but it isn't there." Maybe in that meeting nobody had a better idea. Overall, not really a plot hole, but an odd choice. I may be in the minority, but I really enjoyed this show. It was not at all what I was expecting, but it was fun. Sure, it had some pretty weak moments, but the good outweighed the bad.

Man they dropped the ball with the Grand Inquisitor.

    Doesn't even resemble the Pau'an from Ep.III

The Grand Inquisitor is deeply underwhelming, but the teaser is really nice! Hope episodes will be around 60 minutes as the episode count is even lower than Boba Fett. Please don't let this be a stinker! But so far I really like what I am seeing!

I have zero hope for this show now. I had a little. but it looks like Disney just doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

I am so much more excited for this. Yes, let's see a story that doesn't involve the Skywalkers!
