watching Death to Smoochy again. This is easily in my top five comedies ever. Fucking underrated genius.

Watched “The Hours” today.
Again. I think for at least the 10th time.
It never gets old.
NCAA's all dayyyyyy. Texas Tech/Gonzaga was a great game tonight, and then UVA/Purdue was absolutely epic. Will go down as an all time tourney classic.
I enjoyed The Beach Bum.
The reviews are all over the place but i found it to be a fun cinematic romp.
Matthew Maconaughey plays the character perfectly. It's a beautiful looking movie in regards to technical filmmaking.
Just finished watching this and liked it. Just remember to stay until the end of the credits...
And the Princesses fashion was great.

Been watching James from Naperville on Jeopardy! WHOA!

Hellboy... what a mess. Haven't seen a movie this jumbled and all over the place in quite a while. Although David Harbour makes for a pretty neat Hellboy this movie fails in every aspect. Cringy rock music to indicate a change of location, effects ranging form quite nice to "well, did the run out of money mid-shot?" and really questionable casting alongside foul language to the point it becomes gimmicky... personally I have a hard time believing an ancient monster slurs like a mobster from Peaky Blinders. The portrayal of Lobster Johnson was mediocre as well and very stiff. Apart from a few nice scenes and a believable and cool Hellboy this was soulless, mindless and hyperventilating trash in my opinion. It's just not well crafted at all and every aspect of mystery and wonder that made the first two adaptions so special is lost. It's a two-hour-long fever dream without any vision.
Plus I haven't seen a movie that actually gets turned for the worst due to its r-rating. Mindless unrealistic violence without any gravity is just not benifitng a movie at all, although I have to confess that the creatures from hell gave me a nice Wayne Barlowe vibe (the guy responsible for Dante's Inferno amongst others).
I dug it.

I have watched “Crazy Rich Asians” at least four times in the last three weeks.
If it’s on, I watch it again.

Jeopardy, man! If you're a fan or not, it's history happening there.
^^^
Definitely next year's Oscar winner for best picture. Citizen Kane has found a contender for best movie ever made.
Just finished Lego 2. It was...OK? One or two spots that were as good as the first movie but otherwise unremarkable.
Though it is funny that Chris Pratt was in two movies that dealt with time travel AND referenced BttF, Bill & Ted, and Hot Tub Time Machine in the same year.
I've been watching The Office. It really was a groundbreaking show.
Also, this Tuca and Bertie show on Netflix: dear god, it's one of the most frenetic, bat shit craziest things I've ever seen. I really dig it.
Just watched The Big Bang Theory series ending episodes.
I liked them but they seemed a bit rushed.
Been watching since the mid-season break in S1 when I was on vacation and caught the Halloween episode with the Doppler joke. That hooked me.
People give it a lot of flack for not portraying geeks accurately... I disagree. The types of people presented are the types of geeks I know... including Bernadette and Amy. Sheldon is a bit of an outlier though, never known anyone who can't process like he does but a lot of people who behave close enough like him regardless of that.
And now just finished with "Industrial Accident" (and bonus footage).
The story behind the Revolting Cocks sound made me laugh. Trent on tour as Revolting Cocks also made me laugh. The story about how NIN was accepted by WaxTrax, you know, I get it. Honestly, I'd say NIN Purest Feeling and Pretty Hate Machine don't really sound like WaxTrax to me. Broken and The Downward Spiral do though. The Adrian Sherwood stories were about what I expected and confirms that apparently my musical taste basically lay at the intersection of WaxTrax and On-U Sound (and forking off in many, many way after that). I liked it. Maybe you have to have a fondness for the music/era, maybe you don't.
Elementary S7 has started.
James on Jeopardy!
As of today, he’s won $2,323,971.00 and is within $196,729 of champion Ken Jennings’ record.
But James has been on for 30 days.
Ken was on for 74 days.
Jeopardy! has NEVER been this much fun.
Re-watching Better Off Ted.
Do you think he's going to keep going until he breaks Ken's record, or is he going to continue past it until someone beats him?
I feel bad for all the people that get on the show competing against him - they should all bring them back for a second chance when he's gone lol
Just finished ep. 1 of HBO/Sky mini series Chernobyl. Fuck me running, what an incredible ride this is promising to be. Take breaks, check on your people.
Also, how wild is this story about Hildur Guđnadóttir composing and recording her brilliant score inside an actual power plant while the production was happening:
