In an interview with Deadline, Morgan teased that old Negan may return during Negan and Maggie's The Walking Dead spinoff, Dead City. He revealed that Dead City would take place 2 years after the end of the flagship series, giving Negan plenty of time to fall back into his old habits. Check out Morgan's full statement below:
I think that this spinoff is going to take place a couple of years after the Walking Dead finale, and here’s the problem with those couple of years – – we don’t see what happens to these characters. Negan has an opportunity to fall into his old ways in these missing years. He is very much a creature of habit, and he knows how to survive.
When he was with our group there was another way to survive, and he tried to adapt to those ways. I’m worried whatever happens in these two years away from our group, what he will become and who he will become. And so, when Maggie and he are together again, the chance that Negan isn’t who we see as when we leave him here on the show.
I think is a pretty good chance that he’s not going to be that guy anymore because he adapts to his surroundings and things are f***ing rough. He’s going to go back to some old habits.
Just watched the first episode. Pretty good. Where the hell is Negan’s wife Annie and their kid?!
Negan’s “knock knock” scene in episode two is fucking epic, hahahahaha!
Haven't watched yet but do they just not address the wife and kid thing at all?
Episode 3 reveals there whereabouts of Negan’s wife Annie and their kid Joshua.
Man Lauren Cohan ages like fine wine.
Episode 4 - amazing! Great to see Spoiler: Simon back in a flashback.
Dude I've had all these fucked up things going on.
We've got four now, right?
We'll get on it, today. (My wife and i: I can't speak for @ickyvicky )
Just started getting into this, a few episodes in. I'm pretty burnt out on the Walking Dead thing but I'm liking this. They should've called it Neagan & Maggie Unleashed. 2 of my favorite characters from the original series. Hope it deosn't disappoint further on in the season!
Neagan quote of the week: Ain't that a few asshairs short of a dlngleberry?
Cockroaches: “nope.”
Man, so I have a massive crush on Maggie as it is. But during that big monstrosity fight between that multi-headed walker at the end of episode 5, did anyone find her looking extra attractive from that angle for some reason or was it just me?
Great use of “Slipping Away” from TFA at the end of the season finale.
Plot twist: Negan will use the toenail from Hershel’s severed toe to slice the throat of the woman running the island. Like when Rick did it to Negan with the glass.
I haven't started watching it yet. Ugh, I'm terrible. It's definitely on my To-Do list. I have been DVRing it.
I thought for sure this was going to be a one-off mini-series kinda thing so I'm surprised about Season 2, i still have to watch episode 6 though.
@Erneuert I finally watched episode 1 and 2! The Knock Knock scene was great. I like the dudes with the motorcycle helmets - reminds me of Craig Jones from Slipknot.
Not bad so far!
super ultra badass that BOTH shows have been renewed: Daryl Dixon and Dead City.
Made a thread for this one:
Watched Episode 3. Pretty brutal with the scene of Negan killing the dude, and the sheriff killing off the zombies in the cage.
I still haven't finished it; i am depressed. I just wanna watch horrific true crime on youtube, lately.
I'll catch up.
Yeah, i've been going through some shit. But we're the ones who live, right? Fuck yeah.
