cross-posting this from the MM thread...
Just got my hands on this pink variant of the Holywood bootleg....I'll clean it here soon before playing it and then give a review. The jacket is just like the ACSS jacket but this one actually comes with an insert.
(sorry for the GIANT photos, imgur doesn't resize them it seems)
and it seems these do come with the usual bootleg defects...hopefully this doesn't effect play
The original pressing didn't come with this bonus track, right?
My pickups from this past week in Oakland.
KMFDM - ANGST (2019 LE release)
Manson - Bootleg
Nirvana - In Utero (German Pressing with original Albini Mix instead of regular mix)
I'm in Tokyo on a 2-week holiday. Walked into an HMV - which is like an indie record store here - and stumbled across Ministry's Work For Love, Revenge, and I'm Falling/Cold Life singles. Whatta find!
US versions. And they are now safely tucked away in our room.
Really loving Christone "Kingfish" Ingram's debut LP, Kingfish, which just came out on vinyl last month. Real soulful, straight-up Delta Blues (both acoustic and electric) from a Gen Z'er — go figure, the guy is just twenty years old and already hitting it out of the park! He's got a great career ahead of him, this album is an absolute stunner, has great guest appearances from Buddy Guy and Keb' Mo', and terrific sound thanks to his drummer/producer Tom Hambridge. Highly recommended for all Blues fans.
VMP just repressed Biggie's Ready To Die, so I signed up for 3 months.
So originally I had gone to Last Stop (one of my local record stores) because I had Opus Eponymous on my waiting list and it finally showed up, that's when I found Twitch. I always look for Ministry vinyls and this was the first time in like 20 years of searching that I finally found something old.
And I also picked up the awesome new Slipknot album as well as IMO A7Xs best (and my favorite) album City of Evil.
Da Brat - Funkdafied
Got my copy of the NONE MORE NEGATIVE box set from Type O Negative last night. Packaging is fucking stellar and the albums sound amazing. Only complaint is that my copy of October Rust came with two SIDE 3/4 discs. I've been dying to listen to that on vinyl and am not very excited about the process of having to contact and get a new copy of SIDE 1/2 sent out.
broke out my original pressing of The Fragile on saturday to listen to in honor of its birthday. still sounds fantastic...pretty sure i've only ever played it twice before. can never believe that i bought it brand new for $17.99 in 1999. holy shit.
also pictured is my original (well-worn) CD copy. i have never bought another CD copy of it, which seems strange.
Amazing 2 7" single haul this morning, my 3yo daughter will be most pleased; my wife, less so.
My dad recently wrote : "I can never forgive McCartney for inflicting that mess upon the world!"
Nice. I bought mine much more recently than that, but I got a very good price for it. I'm slowly moving towards the idea of flogging it and buying the reissue instead, though: I've been too scared to actually play it in the past; it's not something I can play at this point in my life in public anyway, and it's just sitting there at risk of being damaged.
