That would certainly be more worthwhile than that weird "Chris Cornell" compilation.
Well, obviously, a lot of redundant tracks for people owning SG, AS, TotD, Chris solo albums. That would be fine if they managed to find a good flow, good balance of heavy and acoustic songs, but it doesn't feel like they cared enough.
Also my comment about Audioslave unreleased stuff doesn't refer to Cornell exclusively, i'd love to hear what Morello and company composed.

two more from the Artist Den performance. Chris destroys New Damage vocally. Still really gutted that we lost him.
the concert was amazing
We miss You Chris
I went to my local cinema to see this last night and it was incredible seeing them on an IMAX screening. The concert was killer and the audience was into it, clapping and cheering after several songs, especially when Chris was doing some amazing vocal work. Got the chills at least once. And on the drive home somewhat euphoric, somewhat feeling like a wound was re-opened as Chris' loss was felt more acutely than it has in a while.
Still, incredible show and glad it's being released on blu-ray at the end of the month.
Blasting this because the day always reminds me of one of my favorite bands ever. Happy festivities my US friends
Looks like the band has been trying to finish their final album for the last two years, but need access to the original files.

Guess his wife/ex-wife/family are being assholes about it? Great job.
There is definitely that undercurrent of unfinished business knowing that the band want to finish some of that material off, as both a tribute and some closure for Soundgarden in a way. I hope whoever is stopping this from happening sees some sense in the not too distant future. It's definitely cool that they have been trying to get the ball rolling on this though.
Good review of the new Artists Den:

Giving it a cursory view right now--really awesome, and LONG!

Kim Thayil talks about unreleased album and the legacy of Soundgarden. No real news, but at least he would like to complete their final album at some point.
Five reasons why Soundgarden should be in the R'R HOF:

this makes me sad. word around seattle is the reason eddie vedder didn't show up at any temple of the dog shows or the cornell tribute show is he & vicky cornell don't like each other at all. eddie & his wife have been very supportive of chris's older daughter though. chris's daughter still lives near me (as does eddie & family). i hope vicky & the band can come to a resolution so that the music can come out.
This is a sad situation.
Read an article on Daily Mail with a lot of comments about how much of a money grabbing person she is, some quite shocking comments in there.

Soundgarden was snubbed from being inducted into the Rock N' Roll HOF.
Bad call. They absolutely should have been inducted.
Maybe they wanna wait until things die down with the drama btwn the band and Cornell's wife?

that last paragraph is so sad.
:-(
Would be nice if Vicky and the guys could just sit down and talk and come to some kind of agreement.
Interestingly enough:Seems that Pearl Jam (by way of Matt, I'm sure) has definitely chosen a side.Wow, Brendan O'Brien is identified as the "trusted producer" who Vicky insisted must produce any Soundgarden material in order for her to release Chris's vocal tracks to the rest of the band, which they rejected.
Interesting that Pearl Jam stopped working with him right around the time all of this was going down - and instead brought in a former Soundgarden crew member.
i may have written this here before but its pretty well known around town (seattle) that eddie & mrs cornell don't care for each other much at all. word is it was the reason for eddie's conspicuous absence from the cornell tribute show & no appearances on the temple of the dog tour. i know eddie was in town during the seattle shows as he was photographed at the seahawks game that weekend. pity, opportunity lost. i'm glad i was able to go to 1 of those TOTD shows. was the last time chris played here.
