Talk about the most original argument against heavy music I've ever heard. Haven't heard this on the internet. Ever. Nope. First time.
Whoa, wait...you mean...the one person had the opinion you disagree with? Whoa.
Oh, and other than a few solid albums, most of the Slayer catalogue is filler trash. *shrugs*
Just because something inspired someone doesn't make it good.
Hey, there's those few albums I mentioned that are good. No, not the rest of the garbage nobody cares about, these ones.
@center27j - What do you think of mathcore and djent?
Yeah, his vocals were never anything special. Just your angry uncle yelling at the wall. *yawns*
I’m a Slayer fan so I won’t join in on the hatred for that however,
Metal genres are extreme and universal. I’m a fan of NWOBHM, thrash/speed/crossover, groove and a huge fan of death metal, an avid black metal fan and also enjoy a lot of -core (metal, math, hard, grind and death). Limiting oneself due to lyrics and vocals being unintelligible or production being low is not something you should limit yourself to. I had that mindset once but quickly chucked it away after exploring other genres. Get out of your comfort zone. I like the bands you listed but basically you want extended thrash/groove people listened to in the late 80’s and early 90’s it seems. It’s a relic of the past and has had great albums. The fact you said Power Trip (good band) is the only hope left is largely laughable.
FUCK YES
i got tickets to the november 17th show at beat kitchen before it sold out and they added a show on the 18th. i am beyond excited. i only got to see them once, and it was at beat kitchen, on august 22nd 2006, so this will be an amazing experience.Daughters Sign to Ipecac Recordings
Daughters, “the art-grind-turned-noise-rock mavens” (Decibel), have signed with Ipecac Recordings, sharing new song “Satan in the Wait” (http://smarturl.it/SatanInTheWait) from an as-of-yet unannounced, but planned, 2018 release.
Coyly commenting, vocalist Alexis Marshall said, "Pleased to bring all you lovely people: ‘Satan in the Wait.’ The first new Daughters song in just more than eight years is an indication, of sorts…”
Along with news of the band’s signing to Ipecac and the release of their first new song since 2010’s self-titled album, Daughters have announced a five-date trek for the fall, with stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Chicago. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
“As longtime fans of many of the albums Ipecac has released, we are proud to be a part of their roster,” says guitar player Nick Sadler. “We are looking forward to getting back on road and playing new songs.”
“You don't often get a chance to work with bands that you are already fans of,” added Ipecac Recordings Co-Founder Greg Werckman. “We are thrilled to have Daughters join the Ipecac family. A perfect fit and I guarantee the wait was worth it!”
Daughters tour dates:
November 4 Brooklyn, NY Saint Vitus
November 9 Los Angeles, CA The Echo
November 10 San Francisco, CA Bottom of the Hill
November 15 Denver, CO Larimer Lounge

gwar is still a thing?
I can't get over the new Birds in Row album We Already Lost the World. Such a phenomenal band and I didn't think it'd be possible to top You, Me & The Violence, but they did.
They did.
They're in Denver tonight at the Ogden, opening for Converge who is in turn opening for Neurosis. I really want to see BIR and Converge (couldn't care less about Neurosis) but my concert buddy isn't around and this isn't a show or venue I feel like attending alone. Sad panda.
New album "A New Kind of Horror" out September 28.
Frontierer's 2nd full length album, UNLOVED, is out now on Bandcamp for free. FUCKING INSANELY HEAVY MATHCORE/NOISE, I'm loving it
It's really good. I almost needed to take a break listening to it.
anyone of you tried thou? that last EP is pretty good, supposedly inspired by alice in chains.

I've been listening to Gost's Possessor album on and off again since it's release, it has a great mixture of Black Metal and New Retro Synthwave.
It's a unique record and I'm a bit hesitant to share it here since it's more Synthwave than Black Metal, hopefully you all might enjoy it.
